The only time Tressel lost Michigan the lack of a great Mike killed us. Chris Perry made himself a first round draft pick that day. IMHO getting a great Mike should be our #1 priority from here out.l

From what I saw in the CaliFlora all star game, Mccarthy is not a Mike, although that is where he played in the game. He was having real problems taking on the blocks. Maybe down the road(3 or 4 years), but he is a long way from being a servicable Mike at this point.

What does he need to elaborate on? He watched the game and thats what he saw. Ive heard from quite a few people that he had problems at the Mike.

i think it's a pretty moot point as mccarthy will be an OLB at osu anyway. he was only playing the mike in this game out of necessity. some miami folks on the rivals board were saying he played pretty well.

He looks like more of an OLB prospect to me from what I've seen on video. I do like his athleticism though.

Sounds like he will fit in just fine

I wonder if the sudden shake-up of the Miami(FL) staff will have any effect on McCarthy's decision. They did fire there linebackers coach.
