I think you could very easily see OSU end up with Worthington, Rose and Nagy all playing DT. That would give us plenty of depth at both DT and DE. That would leave us with this a year from now (assuming Patterson stays at DE):

DE:

David Patterson Sr.
Jay Richardson Sr.
Vernon Gholston Jr.
Alex Barrow RS-So.
Ryan Williams RS-Fr.
Lawrence Wilson So.
Walter Dublin? Fr. (I think we take one true DE in this class)

DT:

Quinn Pitcock Sr.
Joel Penton Sr.
Tim Schaefer Sr.
Sian Cotton Jr.
Nader Abdallah RS-So.
Todd Denlinger RS-Fr.
Doug Worthington RS-Fr.
Rob Rose Fr.
Bill Nagy Fr.

Looking to 2006, if Worthington turns out to be a true rush DE, then Patterson could stay inside next year next to Quinn. I would be more than happy to have Gholston coming off one edge, Richardson off the other, Wilson, Worthington and Williams backing them up, with Pitcock and Patterson plugging the middle, and Nader, Sian and Denlinger rotating in.

And then as O8ch said, DT could be the money position in the state of Ohio in 2006. Ben Martin, Eric Thomas, Joey D'Andrea and Darren Gunn all have a chance to be nationally ranked next year.

Is Joey related to Mike. I had not heard of him until this thread.

Thanks for finding that about Mr. Martin. Man I hope that we can land him next year.

I don't believe so...Mike is from Avon Lake and Joey is from Upper Arlington. Unless the family moved...

Thanks that is just an uncommon last name and I tried to put two and two together.

In the era of 85 scholarships, that to me is incredable depth

I don't think Rose goes to DT. He is very filled out as it is and I think he is 245-250 and I don't see him putting on a whole lot of weight. Plus I think he is too quick to play DT. We are after Dekle and Taylor plus I would like Nagy. 2 DT's this year and we will be fine. We can slide with just one though.

I think any kid is going to put on weight once he gets to college, regardless of how filled out he is. It is only natural...these guys want to get bigger, stronger and faster. Rose is already at 255, and I can guarantee you his weight will only go up from there once he gets to college. If he can stay at 265-275 and still run in the 4.7 range, then you are right, he may stay at DE. But I could also see him beefing up to around 280, running in the 4.85 neighborhood, and providing not only the strength to be run-stopping DT, but to also provide the quickness to give OSU an excellent pass rush up the middle.

Forget about Dekle for now...he has grades issues and needs some serious work in the classroom next year to get where he needs to be. And unless something changes, Taylor is still a longshot, even with his friendship with A.J. Wallace. If by some chance we do get Taylor, then Nagy's chances of an offer diminish greatly.
