'06 MN DT Kyle Sheehan (Purdue Verbal)
'06 MN DT Kyle Sheehan

Fairmont (MN)
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 260 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.8 seconds
GPA: 4.0
Scout $
11/11
Kyle is ranked as the #2 DT in the Midwest by Scout and he committed to Purdue last February. Kyle's Grandfather, Terry Sheehan, was a two-time All-American at Purdue in the 1950's. However, tOSU has entered the picture and Kyle says he is going to look in to the BUckeyes before making a final decision. tOSU is looking at him as a TE, but he says they are also promising him a look as a DL. This season, Kyle had 81 tackles, 19 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, caught 9 balls for 112 yards, scored one touchdown, and had 60 pancake blocks this year. He is a legit 6-foot-4, 255-pounds, squats 500 pounds, benches over 400 pounds, and runs a 4.8 40-yard dash. Kyle is described as a high intensity player who is always at full speed. He put up this season's incredible numbers while playing with a torn labrum in his shoulder. Also....the kid has a 4.0 GPA.
With an official offer from tOSU, Kyle is planniing on setting up a visit to Columbus in December.
My take: Sounds like another Minnesota recruit from last year eh? The legacy spin has me doubtful, but if he is willing to take an official visit, we all know anything is possible.

Even as a legacy recruit, there must be something there if he is listening and willing to visit tOSU. Definitely good size for a TE.

Interesting development, especially for a legacy commit....Given JT's reluctance to pursue the verbal commits of other schools, I guess the Bucks have been recruiting him all along. I was kind of surprised to find no posts about Kyle Sheehan on the PU Rivals messageboard this morning.

Great find!
Fairly quick for his size and nice GPA.
I have to think Purdue's season is helping OSU. Tought to overcome the legacy angle, but who wants to lose most of their games?

Being a legacy to Purdue, why would he even risk the bad publicity if he wasn't seriously considering us?

255lbs, is light for a DT. But at 6-4, he has room to grow.
