Remember all that good advice 3clouds, osugrad21, LJB and many others preach about taking care in what we say, how we say it - for recruits DO visit these boards?
Everything, and I mean everything that you possibly do to alienate a potential recruit some (darn it -many) of the looser cannons on the Hawkeyer version of BN are doing right now. The above linked thread preaches that Iowa should just pull his offer/schollie now.

I went over there and all I can say is "WOW!" Next to Fred Davis over at Bucknuts, I've never seen a board melt down this bad over a recruit before. They have like 6 threads dedicated to the issue calling Jim Tressell a sleaze and telling Ferentz to pull Bowman's scholarship offer.
On second thought, the Fred Davis meltdown was much worse. But it is funny to read another school's fans lose it. |

Well - I don't know about it being funny - I'd say it's tragic and stupid, though that's a matter of opinion. Your recollections of the Fred Davis affair are on point no doubt. As in, some fans somewhere will get bent out of shape over these matters. What strikes me now in Hawkeye-land is that those posters are doing nothing but push a recruit away with their venom.
It cannot be a nice read for him, nor for his family, and certainly I have to believe the Iowa recruiting staff are unhappy about that type of stuff.

Sportsmanship just isn't for the playing field, or arena. Its for everyone. Anymore, the internet can be as public as downtown. I only hope it doesn't reflect bad on the Big Ten Conference. A great example of sportsmanship is our old buddy "Taz"! What a guy! And The posters here on Buckeyeplanet love him!

Funny, I am banned from that board for stating (in a very civil and polite way) that the Hawkeyes were very naughty for pulling Delbert Ferguson's offer two years ago....
