I think the biggest impact in his decision will be how good the school's academics are that he is going to go to
Ohio State is one of the best schools academically in the nation... Just ask Craig Krenzel Last edited by Highstreet; 02-10-2005 at 11:17 PM. |

Myron mentions four schools as being his leaders - Oklahoma, Michigan, Miami, and Florida State. No mention of Ohio State.
Kind of surprising that a 4.0 student who wants to major in neurology would be seriously considering the Sooners and the 'Noles.... The article is by Greg Biggins, usually a reliable source: Rivals on Myron Rolle (2/13/05) |

Well, NJ-Buckeye, any news from you on this?

I'm shocked by his top four
From what I heard he was a big lean to Virginia, with Michigan a distant second. Per the article he wants to stay close to home, yet he mentions OU, FSU, and Miami?

UVA would make a lot of sense for rolle. top shelf academics, quality foorball program, quality coaching, close enough to home, and an up and coming football program whose best years are in the immediate future.

Getting Myron Rolle to campus will be a big win for the bucks. And as opposed to what most casual homers will think, if we don't land him its not a sign of JT not being able to sign. This kid is probably one of the more sought after recruits for his ability to change the passing game of any team (assuming he lives up to his hype). His bro just got thru school with a lot of success and so he'll be riding his brother's hype as well (it is his bro, right?).
Anyway, I think if we can get Myron to campus, we should be able to do a spectacular job selling our Med School facilities as well as the brilliance of our DB coach. We can show the success our corners (Gamble, Plummer, Springs, Clement, Winfield, Ross) and safeties (Allen, Doss, Nickey) have had in being drafted in the pros, better than almost any other school. edit: Extra suggestions added, any others? It seems Rolle has trimmed his list so as to ease the pressure from recruiting, with the 5 schools being Michigan, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State, and Florida. He discusses why he likes these schools in detail. This is likely his final list, and wants to visit each b/f deciding in Dec. His father played at the "U", and is a huge Miami fan. His teammate Lugman Abdallah signed with the "U" , and is also recruiting him there. I say Coker has the upper leg here with the dad, the teammate, the summer camp honors etc etc... |

Coker may have the upper leg, but Myron also has talked more highly of Oklahoma than any other school in particular...

In this year's class, Oklahoma recruited a 5 star safety, a 4 star safety, two 3 star safeties, and if you count Nic Harris, a 4 star player Michigan tried to recruit as a safety, that's five they just got. |

I think by the end of next year we will have at least one or two studs that will have emerged in addition to Youboty. They may not be potential AA guys like Ashton, but will provide solid play at the other corner position and not leave as much PT for a guy like this. IMO. |
