Honestly we should be just fine without him. Schools like scUM are desperate to grab him considering the shambles their DB corps are in.

We have great safeties at OSU already, and Kurt Coleman and Antwine Perez are both strongly considering OSU and are considered by many to be among the top safeties in america.

BTW, someone please merge this with the actual Rolle thread.

Trust me I tried to get the questions in, and I am a "regular" there at SN so I normally get my good questions answered. The only problem it is moderated and if he really isn't interested in Ohio State those questions won't get answered.

I just don't see him coming here.

Wow! That's Krenzel-esque stuff right there. Roughly equal to a 1300+ score on the old SAT. Looks like he's got the goods to be a future Dr. Rolle as he has stated.

I thought I had a great 'IN' with Rolle as well... and he never responded... His best friend loves the Buckeyes (altho the friend will be attending Princeton on schollie)... so Rolle knew there was immense interest by OSU... I also thought Hazell could make an impact being from Jersey...

With Rolle's focus on education, primarily med... it is bewildering why he doesn't let OSU in... He likes Okla since they were the first contact... despite anything else he says, he likes the FL schools because his dad influenced those... he's an alum from one of them...

Other presumed influencers are his trainer and the other college DBs being trained by same individual...

He definitely wants to play in the NFL and I pointed out to him via his friend, no school has more DBs in the NFL than us...

He has impeccable traits.. athletically, personally, scholastically... respected family... grades/scores are fab... just a damn shame...

"I am going to announce on September 1st," says the 6-foot-2, 210 pounder who adds that the date is the only thing set in stone, including a location. "That's the question, we are not sure yet. It might be at might school, it might be in Atlantic City at a plaza, but we are not sure yet."

Myron Rolle has yet to make up his mind, though there are just six finalists from which he will choose.

"My father is planning on sitting down on Sunday and talking about it and we should come away with a decision then, hopefully. It should be a long discussion.

"My finalists right now are Miami, Penn State, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, and Oklahoma."

ATLANTIC CITY (N.J.) -- The nation’s top prospect worked hard to whittle his way down from over fifty scholarship offers to a manageable six teams. Visiting schools, researching information, and talking with fans, Myron Rolle made his decision with all the facts in front of him.

"I decided to go to Florida State University," said Rolle.

And with that, Florida State adds the top player in the Class of 2006, who picked the Seminoles over other finalists Florida, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Penn State.

"When I went there for a visit I felt comfortable, and I can get my academic goals done," he added.

Rolle, a 6-foot-2, 210 pound safety out of Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School, felt it was the right decision for him and his family.

"Micky Andrews is one of the best defensive back coaches in the country if not the best. I am just glad to be a part of the family."

Rolle plans to enroll this spring while older brother McKinley will enroll next fall as a graduate student in sports management.

“Florida State is recruiting me as a strong-safety and they feel like I have the body type to make an impact there,” he said. “They are low on the depth chart at that position.

“My goal is to graduate college and then play professional football,” he said. “After pro football, I want to enter medical school. I want to attend a medical program of the school that I got my undergraduate from because I would have already been settled in there. One advantage Florida State has is that they are new medical school with cutting-edge technology.”

As a junior, he registered 83 tackles, six sacks and four interceptions sacks.

Rolle reports a 4.0 GPA/1970 SAT (new version)--no retest.

Congrats to Myron for doing everything right - on and off the field. Truly a great young, student athlete - I wish there were more like him.

They won't...the academic scandal only impacted lazy athletes who wanted a quick GPA booster in an easy course.

Myron wouldn't have touched that class with a 10 foot pole.

Let me say this, while I have no love for FSU and Bobby Bowden specifically, Myron Rolle is one great kid. He is a true scholar athlete, and a class act.

Like Warrick Dunn, one of my favorite kids of all time - no matter what college he played for (Dunn is right up there with Danny W.) - Rolle is a wonderful ambassador for FSU, and someone I wish UF had turned from the dark side.

Whether he'll ever tackle Tim is another story
