'06 NJ DB Myron Rolle (FSU signee)
Myron Rolle Princeton (New Jersey) The Hun School Height: 6-foot-3 Weight: 200 pounds 40-yard dash: 4.49 seconds Bench reps: 18 Vertical leap: 37 inches GPA: 4.0; Class president & Habitat for Humanity member 2003 stats: 1038 yards on 153 carries and 12 tds; 103 tackles 2002 stats: 90 tackles, 5 ints, and blocked 3 fgs ![]() http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=1...006&nid=899988 Terrific safety prospect from New Jersey that is already up to 11 offers. VT, UVA, Stanford, Rutgers, Purdue, Penn State, Oklahoma, Mizzou, Maryland, Iowa, & Duke have all offered. He was a second team All-State prep and All-Conference selection his freshman year. As a sophmorehe was 1st team All-State Prep (Prep Schools play in a different league than public or parochial schools in NJ) for both running back and defensive back. He is transferring to The Hun School of Princeton, NJ for his junior season. The Hun competes in the same conference, Mid-Atlantic Prep League, as his current school (Peddie School). His dream schools are Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Florida. Only Oklahoma and VT have offered. He says he's looking for a nice mix of athletics and academics. Location is also something he will be looking at. His parents prefer the Ivy League but his talent would no doubt be wasted there. Rolle would like to major in Pre-Med and specialize in Neorology. Rolle grew up an Oklahoma fan and has already taken an unofficial visit to Norman last November. He also attended their 2003 summer camp where he worked out with the seniors instead of the kids his age. He discussed, albeit brief, what he likes about Ohio State: Ohio State - "Coach Tressel seems to be putting together solid teams." Rolle was one of 6 sophmores that participated at the Elite College Combine on May 5th at the Meadowlands and went up against, arguably the best player in the country, Derrick Williams in one-on-one drills. Rolle did get burnt by Williams on one occasion. However Rolle showed that he wont' back down from a challeng by staying with Williams the next 2 times they went up against each other. He was also one of the top DBs at the Penn State Nike Camp. Last edited by LordJeffBuck; 01-24-2005 at 07:11 PM. |

Anyone heard of this 2006 recruit from Jersey?
Last year Myron Rolle popped up unexpectedly at Oklahoma's summer camp. Nobody from the Sooners staff knew anything about the New Jersey kid other than that he certainly passed the eyeball test. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o ></o >But after a couple of practices, then-Sooner assistant Mike Stoops pulled Rolle out of his group and threw him in with some touted senior prospects so the OU staff could get a better gauge on just what had showed up on their doorstep. Sure enough, the rangy young DB blanketed the receivers at that level too. <o ></o ><TABLE style="mso-cellspacing: 0in; mso-table-anchor-vertical: paragraph; mso-table-anchor-horizontal: column; mso-table-left: right; mso-table-top: middle; mso-padding-alt: 0in 0in 0in 0in" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 align=right border=0><TBODY><TR><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8; PADDING-RIGHT: 0in; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; PADDING-LEFT: 0in; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0in; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; WIDTH: 0.1in; PADDING-TOP: 0in; BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=10 rowSpan=2> <o ></o ></TD><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8; PADDING-RIGHT: 0in; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; PADDING-LEFT: 0in; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0in; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; WIDTH: 146.25pt; PADDING-TOP: 0in; BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=195><?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shapetype id=_x0000_t75 stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" o referrelative="t" o:spt="75" coordsize="21600,21600"><v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><v ath o:connecttype="rect" gradientshapeok="t" o:extrusionok="f"></v ath><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shapetype><v:shape id=_x0000_i1025 style="WIDTH: 146.25pt; HEIGHT: 196.5pt; mso-wrap-distance-top: 3pt; mso-wrap-distance-bottom: 3pt" alt="Myron Rolle" type="#_x0000_t75"><v:imagedata o:href=\"http://espn.starwave.com/media/ncf/2004/0617/photo/myronrun_vi.jpg\" src="file:///C:/DOCUME~1/t75lvs1/LOCALS~1/Temp/msoclip1/01/clip_image001.jpg"></v:imagedata></v:shape></TD></TR><TR><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8; PADDING-RIGHT: 0in; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; PADDING-LEFT: 0in; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0in; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; WIDTH: 146.25pt; PADDING-TOP: 0in; BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=195>Myron Rolle's talent is turning heads across the country. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> He was mature, quick and had a frame bigger than any of the OU DBs. Rolle dazzled the Sooners staff so much that after the camp Bob Stoops sat down with the kid and his parents and offered the New Jersey product a scholarship.<o ></o >Pretty heady stuff considering Rolle was about to begin his sophomore year. <o ></o >He followed up that visit with a trip to Purdue where a similar scenario played out with Rolle leaving the campus with another scholarship offer. <o ></o >This summer, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound DB showed up in Miami, clocked a camp-best 7.03 in the three-cone drill, locked up the best WR, Jessie Hester Jr., and took home overall camp MVP honors. <o ></o > |

I've read a couple articles about him. He should be one of the top prospects next year. I'm pretty sure Oklahoma, Purdue, VT, and a few others offered him awhile ago. I know he had interest in OSU too... I think I read he was eventually planning on camping here.
Rivals has a few articles on him. |

I had to check the date when reading that article on ESPN.. it sounded like an April fools joke. He's a 4.0 student, president of his class, editor of the year book and helps little old ladies across the street in his spare time. He works out for 4 hours a day, attends school for 8, works in his microbiology lab for 3, football practice for 2, studies for 4, and tutors disadvantaged youth for 3.
Seriously, he sounds like a great get for somebody, but it'll be interesting to see what he can do with the next three years of high school. |

I think this kid will look good next to AMW in '07. Looks like a good reason to have hired coach Hazell.
