'06 IN OL Cody Faulkner (Indiana signee)

Cody Faulkner
Arcadia (Indiana) Hamilton High School
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 308
40-time: 5.3
Faulkner is a three-year varsity starter for Hamilton Heights. He was named honorable mention all-state as a sophomore. As a junior, Faulkner had the job of protecting Wisconsin bound quarterback Dustin Sherer. Cody was named 1st team all-conference, all-area and all-state. Faulkner is the son of former Florida Gators tight end, Chris Faulkner. Chris Faulkner was drafted in the 4th round by the Dallas Cowboys and played with Chargers and Rams as well. Cody has an older brother playing football at Wabash College.
SUPERPREP PREMIUM
Cody is getting letters from most of the Big 10 schools as well as LSU, Alabama, Georgia, and Notre Dame. Purdue has also invited him to their junior day. His favorites are Ohio State, Alabama, Wisconsin, Purdue, Iowa, and Florida. He has no offers as of yet. He is a high school teammate of 2005 Wisconsin QB commit Dustin Sherer (who also had interest in Ohio State).

Visited for the IU- OSU game on 10/23
http://ohiostate.scout.com/2/309904.html (Bucknuts)
If you dig around on Bucknuts, there is a picture of him from the game (with some better-known recruits from the class of 2005).
If I find it, I will post.

You're not missing a photo from that link; it just mentions he was at the Indiana game. I didn't get any results searching the premium and recruiting boards over yonder, either.

Some of these recruits' pictures are simply amazing. On one hand you have Jamario O'Neal, who looks about 26 years old in his pictures. On the other hand, you have this kid, who looks like the biggest 10-year-old ever. I don't mean that as a dig or anything (as I'm sure he could whoop my butt), just an observation. He sounds like a good one, and offensive line is going to be a very important position for the next class, after only getting two guys this year. Does anybody know if he projects as a tackle, guard, or center?

Faulkner is the son of former Florida Gators TE Chris Faulkner. He graded out at 95% in his blocking assignments as a junior and was named all-state. Cody was named honorable mention as a sophomore. He carries a black belt in karate.
Scouting Report - Strong at the point of contact. Good short area-blocker and shows good strength as well. Adequate initial quickness. Excellent pass protector. Hard worker, rarely loses a battle when he gets hand on defender. A leader on the field. Versatile. Plays tackle in high school but I see Cody playing guard at the next level.
Summary – Road grader that’s dominant at the point of attack but struggles a bit in space. Plays tackle in high school but I see him playing guard in college where he’ll benefit from moving inside. Excellent zone blocker but needs to work on his feet, overall a very good prospect that will get plenty of attention from college recruiters.
