The unfortunate truth is (and I say "unfortunate" assuming that this young man wanted but looks as though he will not recieve an
OSU offer) that several very fine athletes work extremely hard both on the field and in the classroom in hopes of being offered a scholarship at Ohio State (and many other top Universities) every year. But Coach T and the staff have to fill a very limited number of spots, weighing several factors and that will always leave some kids on the outside looking in.
I feel badly, especialy for those who did everything they could on their end and truly wanted to be Buckeyes, when one or more of these young men that we've "gotten to know" (a few RBs come to mind from last year) ends up not getting the offer they worked so hard for, but that is just how it works and I'm sure it is one of the more difficult aspects of a job that Coach Tressel has done very well in my opinion.
Good luck to Derrell where ever he may end up (especially if it would have somehow worked out to be @ tOSU

)
