10/9 Navarro has set up offical visits to tOSU (10/15) and Tennessee (12/10). He was supposed to attend the PSU/tOSU game but the weather kept him away. He mentions that PSU has had the Buckeye game circled for awhile and he was not suprised they played so well.

10/12 Navorro talks about his recruitment and his excitement for his visit to tOSU for this weekend. Penn St. looks to currently be his leader. He has visits scheduled for Tennessee and VA Tech. His last visit will either be Michigan St., Florida, Illinois, or North Carolina.

Bowman wants to graduate early, and Penn State and Ohio State are two of his leaders.
Interestingly, current Buckeye CB Ashton Youboty also graduated early, and his final two choices were Penn State (thought to be his leader) and Ohio State. Well, Ashton ended up choosing Ohio State because OSU is on the quarter system academically, and Penn State is on semesters. Although the old articles on Youboty do not go into detail about the difference between the two systems, if I remember correctly, the quarter system at Ohio State allowed Ashton to enrol in time for the spring practices prior to his freshman year, whereas the Penn State semester system would not have allowed him to do so. I wonder if any similar considerations will come into play with Bowman. |

That's a great point LJB. I hadn't thought about that possibility. He won't have to enroll in January here to be eligible for Spring practice, as he would at PSU. He only has to enroll for Spring quarter. Gives him some time to play in all-star games and such that he wouldn't have if he had to enroll in January.

10/16/05 By Mike Farrell...Navorro talks at length about his visit. He was hosted by Doug Worthington and Maurice Wells and jelled with them immediately. He rates the trip as an 8 or 9. A great read for those that have access... |

Bowman missed today's game on account of a shoulder injury. No mention on how long he will be out.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't those two hotshot recruits, Justin King and the wideout participate in spring ball at Penn St? I'm pretty sure they did, so apparently it can be done. Which I'm sure that JoePa is quick to point out. Also, doesn't PSU have two pretty fair 'backers as either juniors or sophomores? Or are they looking at D'andrea (sr), Freeman (soph?), Hoobler (jr), and Kerr (sr+), plus a couple of redshirts and get scared off? I woulda thought that Rico McCarty would have joined up, but I don't see or hear of him from Tennessee. Anyway, I join the ranks of 'why don't the LB studs want to come to tOSU?' The defense is set up for them to make all the tackles, and there are some pretty good DT's and DE's in the pipeline, so the spaceeaters will keep the line off them,.....
It does sound like our recuiters need to do some selling.
