Tennessee wouldn't surprise me at all, they cleaned up in the state of Florida this year, they got just about all their targets from Florida except Ken Phillips it seemed.

I say bring in Parrish, Small and Coleman. Parrish and Small are both WR/CB who will excel at both in whatever uniform they play in. Coleman has said he loves both Safety and CB, so he is versatile in his own right as well. Also, Donald Washington from last year is a nice WR/DB prospect who has just let the world know he can "jump out of the gym" and would make a nice WR for us as well. This gives us a few different scenarios to go through:

1.Parrish WR, Small/Coleman CB, Washington Safety
2.Small WR, Parrish/Coleman CB, Washington Safety
3.Washington WR, Small/Parrish CB, Coleman Safety
4.Parrish WR, Small/Washington CB, Coleman Safety
5.Small WR, Parrish/Washington CB, Coleman Safety

Wishful thinking, yes, but not a crazy idea considering all have strong interest in us. Parrish's mother seems to want him out of the South/SEC... and we will be glad to bring him in. Small... well he is from Glenville, enough said. Coleman is a bit of a sleeper prospect, but a great athlete and player that will also be welcomed with open arms. We were the first real big program to offer, and the home state program to boot. Maybe this was a bit too much to be in the Parrish thread alone, sorry, but if the mods want to make a seperate one it's fine with me. Just sharing my thoughts on the situation.

From the Auburn site, Devin's uncle/coach says that Auburn has yet to offer but if they do, they will be a major player for his services. He has offers from Ohio State and Tennessee while Miami, Auburn, Southern Cal, Florida State, Georgia, Florida and Texas are showing major interest.

Devin has transferred from Hollywoood Christian (Fla.) to Miramar (Fla.) Parkway Academy. He has written offers from Tennessee, Ohio State, and Minnesota, but his Uncle says he has a number of verbal offers. According to his Uncle, Auburn, Tennessee, and Ohio State are Devin's current leaders.

Florida's Devin Parrish (6'0, 160, 4.4) is an intriguing two-way prospect. Today we had the chance to catch up with his uncle and offensive co-coordinator Eddie Alford. He has picked up big time offers from Ohio State and Tennessee. Does Ohio State have a shot with Devin?

Parrish is having a huge spring. In addition to a stellar Nike Camp performance he also had a huge spring scrimmage. He raked in 4 passes for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. The past few seasons Parrish has lined up at wide out and corner, but due to the depth chart situation and his height he will play at free safety this season.

"That's going to be a little adjustment for Devin this year. We think with his height, his range, and his speed he will cover the field well. He said it's going to be an adjustment, but he has good hands and covers the field well. I thinks that the ultimate reason the guys on defense want to use him over there," said Alford

Alford also alluded to the front-runners in Devin's recruitment. "I would say that it is actually between Ohio State and Michigan." We know about the interest that the Buckeyes have shown Devin by extending an early offer. Has Michigan followed suite? "No they came in. They wanted to get the tapes back to Coach Carr."

Does Parrish prefer offense, defense or does he figure to play both ways on the next level?

"He wants his shot to play in the Big Ten and possibly on both sides of the ball. He did it for us last year and will again this year. He wants the opportunity to get on the field the fastest whether it is offense defense or special teams. He wants that opportunity. Ohio State probably has the best athlete already in all of college football with Ted Ginn. He is rooting for Ted Ginn all the time to have a good season so he can have his turn."

Is there a clear-cut leader right now?

"As we all know Ohio State has been with Devin since the beginning so I would say they have the inside track. He really wants to play in the Big Ten. I really think Ohio State has the lead. I really do. We have family up there. I went to the University of Akron myself. I tell him it's a beautiful place and he just likes Big Ten football. They are always on TV, and it seems they play kids early from the south end of Florida."

I also asked Coach Alford if it would be permissible to bring this info to the fans before I have even had the chance to talk with Devin.

"Absolutely. I think Devin wants them to know that," explained Coach Alford.

very nice to hear that osu is in on him. the only problem is that being the early leader for a southern kid isnt always reassuring in that they tend to decide later in the process than most.
