Seems as he could be an excellent addition as the "second back" so to speak, to Chris Wells. One "insider" raves about his camp performances. Whatever he missed out on as far as exposure due to his injury his junior year, he is making up for during his camp performances. I'll look forward to seing how he does during the rest of the summer, and whether or not a Buckeye offer materializes.

Camp season is important for Columbus Independence running back Jacob Ramsey as it will give him a chance to show coaches what he can do after missing last year with an injury. Ramsey spoke with Duane Long about where he stands after OSU camp and what schools have come in with offers.

For a player like Jacob Ramsey, summer camps are vital. The senior running back from Columbus Independence sat out 2004 with an injury and didn't see many carries in 2003 as he was in the same backfield as current Ohio State running back Erik Haw, who posted a 3,000-yard season that year.
Therefore, Ramsey needed camps to prove to college programs what he can do, and he has done just that. Ramsey participated in this weekend's Senior Advanced Camp at Ohio State and also camped at West Virginia, Ohio University, and a combine in Michigan, and the offers are starting to come in.
"I have offers from Eastern Michigan, Kent, Marshall just yesterday, Cincinnati and Ohio U. just now," Ramsey said.
Other schools are showing heavy interest but want to wait until they see Ramsey on the field.
"I am hearing from a lot of schools, but they all want to see the first two games of the year since I missed all of last year," Ramsey said.
Ramsey stands in at 6-0, 210 pounds and clocked a 40 time of 4.5 at OSU camp. He has looked good on film as both a linebacker and running back and says he will be lining up at running back primarily this season.
"I am being recruited as an RB, LB and an athlete," he said. "I would prefer to be a running back but I will play anywhere."
"I drilled as a running back at Ohio State."
What is the interest level of OSU?
"They are talking about asking me to games," Ramsey said.
Ramsey's summer camp tour is likely not over.
"As far as what else I may do this summer is I may go to Miami (Oh). and maybe Akron next month," he said. "Akron wants me to come to their camp before they offer."
Ramsey is rated as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Ohio by Ohio High magazine. He broke his ankle in the third play of a scrimmage before the 2004 season.

Jacob currently has offers from Ohio U, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, and Marshall; his leaders are Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State, Ohio State, and Cincinnati, with UC in front due to the fact that the Bearcats have offered.

Just wondering is this guy more of a power back, or a quick agile back. I think more of power back would be better to complement our RB core because MO Wells is a quick, fast RB and C. Wells can do it all so all we need is the power and we will have a perfect group.
