maybe he's grown a little bit since his sophomore season (when the 5'8 was recorded)? if he's up to 5'9 or 5'10, size becomes less of a problem if he has the neccesary cover skills. even if he didn't grow, i'd still take a long look at him. i believe duane said he could be better than winfeild at this point...i'll take that!

as i have said previously, i think the height issue is a bit overplayed. how many cb's can we name that werent offered primarily due to height outside of harrison?
even then, i would contend that harrison probably would have gotten an offer if he had come to camp like the coaches requested. That hindered his progress towards an osu offer more than being 5'8'' IMO.
remember in 2004, osu needed OL in the worst way. Chauncey Incarnato was one of the better prospects in state. osu asked him to come to camp, and he refused to do so. He never got an osu offer.
There seems to be a trend regarding offers and coming to camp moreso than height.

Arizona, Penn State, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Purdue have offered. He has no leader but wants to play early.
As a sophomore among juniors at last year's Columbus, Ohio, NIKE Camp, Chappel came in and posted a top ten 40-yard dash time amongst the upperclassmen defensive backs. As a sophomore, Chappel ran a 4.53 40-yard dash and benched 185 pounds 20 times at the NIKE Camp. In the classroom, Chappel holds a 3.3 GPA and scored an 18 on the ACT

Though impressive this may be more so. Coach Douglas informed that Chappel has maxed out at over 300 pounds....

I think if he performs extremely well at camp, he could see an offer his way very soon thereafter. OSU has had a recent history of seeing a solid corner at camp and offering him almost immediately after. Malcolm Jenkins shined like a star last year and got an offer instantly. I don't know that there are many more cb's on their board right now besides Coleman (perhaps a safety prospect afterall) and Small. Also, I would think that if OSU played their cards right here, Chappel would wait a good while for an offer from them if he thought he saw it coming. Not saying it will happen, just saying it could.

If he shows out at camp and is still not offered, I would think it would be hard to turn down some of the programs that are showing strong interest. They could possibly play their cards just right though. Fwiw he will show out at camp. He always has so far...

I am in the camp that is starting to really like the idea of offering Jovani. I was on the other side of the fence when it came to Harrison, but I think Jovani plays a lot bigger than he really is. He is physical, strong, fast and loves to hit. He would make a great bench corner in our system.
