Sparty is very beat up.
Physically. And emotionally. WR Trannon is very beat up and won't be effective next week. Stanton is being held together with duct tape and bailing wire and looks much less mobile. And fragile. Their secondary keeps getting beat deep! Uh Oh! Bombs away! |

I for one don't ever take a Big 10 team for granted, especially MSU.
I guess I just remember too many games with Earl, Coop and yes Woody! ![]() |

I'd never worry about Coach Tressel taking a big Ten team for granted

Which Buckeye will put the biggest individual hurt on MSU?
Who is the least talked about 2nd string RB or WR on your team?
Whoever he is, I say he goes for about 4 TD's and a combined 290 yards this week. We tend to make no-names and turn them into All American candidates within 60 minutes. I call it the Timmy Smith syndrome. |

Not a problem, SS! I wandered over to your Red Cedar Message Board the other day, and your fans were surprisingly nice to me. Spartans fans are a bit down right now, to say the least!

Everyone references the MSU '98 debacle. I recall the equally dismal '73 or '74 Buck defeat at East Lansing...highly rated Bucks were favored by a million and lost soundly.
I picture the Spartans as a wounded hungry bear in a 7-11. It ain't gonna be pretty, and hopefully we can tranquilize the beast before too much damage. If Sparty plays 4 quarters like their 1st 2 against the domers, it will be a challenge. |

It was 1974 and the final was technically 13-16. We scored a TD on the final play of the game but the refs decided to not let it stand due to a playclock issue. We lost 2 fumbles and an INT in the first half and STILL led 13-9 with about 9 minutes to go in the game. Many many parallels between the '98 game and the '74 game but in neither case did we lose soundly. I think both losses would have been easier to deal with if we had. These were both soul crushers. |

Jax: Fair comments. I meant soundly as in Bucks heavily favored.

Yeah,I wasn't trying to argue semantics. Both losses sucked more than a little bit. |
