The point is that Texas is not going to average 40+ points a game--for the season--with their top two QBs never having taken a single snap yet (one of them isn't even on campus yet). Now, by season's end, one of them may be spun up to speed and be leading the offense to 40 points a game, but not out of the chute.
If Young were still at QB, I'd be very, very concerned about our defense, and think Texas would win and maybe win big. Conversely, if we still had our enitre defense back with Young gone, I think we'd win this in a blowout. But, since neither is the actual case, this will be a very good game with the complete inexperience of the Texas QBs being the biggest factor overall IMO. |

Also, I saw a couple Texas games last year (aside from the game against us), and Brown didn't hand the ball off to RBs for the last 20 minutes in those games (especially in the Big 12 title game against Colorado). |

Mili, I'm flying to Kona next week. I have a layover in Honolulu on the way back but it's only 30 minutes. America West. Is that airport pretty easy to get around in? I'm a little worried.
Sorry about the random question, but I'm pretty lazy and it's really convenient to ask this right now. And of course we expect to score a bunch against those teams. Jamaal Charles by himself should score at least 5 touchdowns in each of those games. ![]() |

The Spring Practices are closed because
...we are installing the Single Wing (on occasion with the "spinning" fullback). The coaches do not want undue stress put on two quarterbacks with no experience. Since we have lots of tailbacks, we will minimize the use of quarterbacks--as long as we can teach "spinning" to the fullback.
We will expect the defense to hold teams to less than seven points per game and score at least one touchdown per game. Yeah, that's how we'll do it. Actually, we haven't a clue how the QBs will do. The practices are closed until the Spring Game. That's coming up at the end of March. So, have to check back around then. Until then expect never-ending posts about the heat down here. I'm surprised none of us have pulled out stuff about sabre-toothed armadillos, flying scorpions and the mysterious sewer snakes. Until then here's to a good time to be had by all. |

As for the defenses we'll play. The Aggies should be down defensively and hired 'arnell (no D) as their new DC to help that happen. Tech will have a down year defensively, and they are a team that you need to score 40 on to ice the game. If we don't score 40 in Lubbock we will lose that game. I think the tOSU defense will be very talented, but will still be stuggling playing mistake free as a unit in our game. UT has several players that can turn one mistake into a TD, without a lot of effort from our QB. |

15 seniors, with 10 expected to be starting. It could be 8 depending on how the Tweedie-Finley (TE) or S.Young-Charles (RB) situations work out. Oh and we will have a senior punter again this year.

Who will the captains be do you think, or have they already been named?? |

So far Michael Griffin and Selvin Young have been assuming the leadership role. Blalock, Crowder, Robison and Studdard are other guys who are leaders who will put their stamp on the team as things go along. With so few seniors it will be an interesting team dynamic.
No captains have been named and we usually do that on a game-by-game basis until the season is over. |
