At the NFL Combine every year only a few players run a sub-4.4.

so you honestly think the oft-injured young can run a sub-4.4?

OSU always has disciplined corners, and the OSU DBs will probably be faster. I seriously doubt the QBs will be throwing picture perfect passes with regularity... so how much of a difference will this supposed 4.4 speed make?

Route running, athleticism in the air, toughness will result in more catches than track times.

Malcolm actually ran about the same distance since Pittman was running diagonally across the field while Jenkins was running straight. Jenkins also didn't have a ball in his hands, which is an advantage. Holding a ball really messes with running technique.

I would not make a claim that either player is faster based on this one play, and I certainly wouldn't claim an entire team was faster based on one play.
