not a GOTP, but this is a pretty sweet picture of ramonce up for grabs (sig material). I would rehost it somewhere so that it doesn't disappear due to the high traffic reading this thread.

Oh yeah, about the unmentionable weather...
Apologies in advance, I'm breaking my own self-imposed ban on discussing the weather. I know OSU fans aren't overly concerned about Texas in September since the game is at night, and that the average temperature in Austin in September is 82 degrees, but THANKS TO GLOBAL WARMING, FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS, IT'S BEEN OVER A HUNDRED DEGREES IN AUSTIN, AND IF IT KEEPS UP, EVERYONE HERE WILL BE DEAD BY THE TIME THE GAME ROLLS AROUND!!!!!!!!!

on the weather
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="center" valign="top" width="30">9 </td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="55">7:12 AM</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="55">7:44 PM</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="45">92°F</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="45">70°F</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="50">81°F</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="85">100°F (1997)</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top">56°F (1957)</td></tr></tbody></table> i have no idea format wise how it will come out, but sunrise 712, sunset 744, avg high 92 avg low 70, avg temp 81, all time high 100, all time low 56 <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="center" valign="top" width="30">9</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="55">7:07 AM</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="55">7:51 PM</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="45">80°F</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="45">57°F</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="50">68°F</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top" width="85">96°F (1964)</td> <td class="lapAvgDataRow" align="left" valign="top">40°F (1986)</td></tr></tbody></table>same line for columbus on the same date. i remember going out to tucson and i believe it was 108 at kickoff hot as hell, but a whopping ensued. i also remember fresno state coach pat hill comments about ohio and it was only going to be 85 for the game, they didnt need fans/misters. but all this being said its gonna be a hot one. and all this speed, timing and what not, i tried to go through it, but i need a pair of these. ![]() |

Again, not saying that it isn't an advantage to be that much taller than the defenders. I don't think that ND even TRIED any kind of fade pattern in the end zone, or any kind of jump-ball situation where they could take full advantage of their height. I was only pointing out that TexasFight's argument against putting 9 in the box (which I agree is a bad defense against Texas) made me think of the Notre Dame fans' argument for why they would win the Fiesta Bowl. (Sorry, TexasFight. I really don't mean to compare you to Notre Dame fans.) |
