K-STATE NOTES | Walker begins rehab
The Kansas City Star
The rehabilitation process has begun for Kansas State freshman Bill Walker.
Walker said he started rehabilitation Saturday on his left knee, which required surgery after he suffered a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament Jan. 6 at Texas A&M.
?I?m riding the (stationary) bike and doing quad exercises,? Walker said. ?I?m just trying to get my range of motion back.?

Big 12 awards K-State's Walker a medical redshirt for 2006-07 season
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Kansas State forward Bill Walker, who played just six games last season due to an injury, was awarded a medical redshirt from the Big 12 Conference on Thursday.
The 6-foot-6 freshman had an impressive start last year before sustaining a season-ending knee injury Jan. 6 in the first few minutes of a 69-65 loss at No. 11 Texas A&M.

I'm not a fan of Billy Walker for various reasons but if there's a kid who got screwed by the HS/NCAA rules it's him.
Good to see he's actually getting a break for once.

Walker shines for Wildcats
But ex-NCH star struggles on defense vs. Musketeers
BY DUSTIN DOW | DDOW@ENQUIRER.COM
Former North College Hill High School standout Bill Walker had another big game in Cincinnati Sunday. But his team, Kansas State, lost to Xavier for the second straight season.
Xavier defeated Kansas State 103-77 in front of 5,233 fans at U.S. Bank Arena, but Walker provided some of the few encouraging moments for Kansas State. Technically still a freshman after playing just a handful of games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury, Walker scored a career-high 31 points against the Musketeers.
He threw down a pair of athletic dunks, grabbed six rebounds and made 13-of-23 shots. Essentially, he looked every bit as effective as when he and O.J. Mayo starred alongside each other at North College Hill.
