It happened when my wife and I went to the Pine Club to eat Monday night. It happened Monday afternoon when I spoke to a journalism class at Xenia High.
It happened today when I stopped in at my neighborhood coffee shop in the Oregon District and it happened the last time I was at Madden Golf Course.
No matter where I?ve been. No matter if I?ve been around young people or old, folks black or white, the question has been the same:
?So what really happened to Pogue and Hoover??

that is really sad.

I hope for the best. Pogue has accomplished so much and had more to do and to see this happen at a point when the future looked so bright.

had to do some searching but here it is

DAYTON ? Aaron Pogue's next stop will be at Vincennes (Ind.) University. Maybe. Dunbar High School's senior leader has opted for the junior college basketball route. However, an agreement has been made with Vincennes that he can back out and instead enroll with a Division I program, should he land an offer by the start of the 2007-08 school year.

Former Dunbar stars take long road to Division I hoops

After stops at community colleges, 6-8 Anderson to play at Miami University, and 6-9 Pogue will join Cleveland State.

Mark Anderson talked about his path from high school to Division I college basketball. But he also could have been speaking about that of his Dunbar High School teammate, Aaron Pogue, who recently enrolled at Cleveland State.

Pogue was shot in a random act of violence. While recovering, the 6-foot-9 post player decided to play at Vincennes (Ind.) Community College, where he averaged 7.1 points and 5.6 rebounds in limited time for a run-and-gun team.
"Aaron has the ability to dominate inside through both his rebounding and defensive play," Cleveland State coach Gary Waters told the school's Web site. "He will use this redshirt season to get accustomed to our program, improve on his skill level and get into the best shape of his life."

Remember Aaron Pogue?
I was just scanning a retrospective on Cleveland State?s season and saw a name I had forgotten: Aaron Pogue.

The big man on Dayton Dunbar?s Division II state championship teams in 2006 (with Daequan Cook) and ?07 redshirted for the Vikings this past season after transferring from Vincennes College in Indiana, where he spent the 2007-08 season.

He was a late Division I academic qualifier in 2007 and by the time he achieved a qualifying score on his ACT, the major programs interested in him reportedly were out of scholarships. Pogue had an agreement with Vincennes to let him out of his scholarship if a Division I offer came open that summer, but before that could happen, Pogue was shot in the chest in an apparent random drive-by in Dayton. The bullet remains lodged near Pogue?s spinal cord.

Why bring this up on the blog? Cleveland State finishes its two-for-one series with Ohio State next season in Value City Arena, meaning if all goes according to plan, Pogue -- now listed at 6 feet 9 and 275 pounds -- will be back on the court where he helped Dunbar win its two state titles, facing a team that had interest him early in his career but gradually lost it.
