I really do hope he is right. You watch Deonte play once and he is simply a football player. Early in the year when he was on ESPN he was very physical and had a great stiff arm. IMO if he did choose the bucks he could push for playing time next year depending on ginn/and/or gonzo leaving.

11/1 Deonte's teammate, Damien Berry, again takes it upon himself to say that the Belle Glades boys will be attending the same school. Although Berry plans to take all of his visits, he considers himself a solid Miami commitment regardless of what happens with Coach Coker. |

Funny we keep hearing that from Damien, but not so much from Deonte. Not that I don't think Miami will ultimately be where Deonte ends up (with OSU a close second), but it's just funny that it keeps coming from someone else's mouth.

Miami's woeful season doesn't sound like it is having an adverse affect on blue-chip WR recruit Deonte Thompson, the No. 27-rated prospect in the country. Thompson, who is from talent-rich Belle Glade, Fla., has already visited LSU and tells the Palm Beach Post he also is interested in Florida, Ohio State and USC. His teammate, DB Damien Berry, is a Miami commitment, and UM defensive back Randy Phillips is a good friend. "I see it as an opportunity," Thompson said of the Hurricanes' situation. "Randy tells me that they need playmakers."

Glades Central receiver Deonte Thompson was his favorite target, catching five balls for 151 yards. In his first game back from a broken foot, Thompson showed no lingering effects from the injury as he and Holley connected on an 82-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game.

Since Thompson is visiting next week, does that mean the other two are joining him? I think HH said on Bnuts the other day that there would be two other suprise Florida visits next weekend...hmmmm http://mb15.scout.com/fohiostatefrm2...ID=20538.topic |

Glades Central rolls
BELLE GLADE ? Bryan Mann threw for 356 yards and six touchdowns to help Glades Central advance with a 56-0 win over Miami Belen in a Class 3A regional quarterfinal at Effie C. Grear Field. The Raiders (8-3) will host LaBelle (8-3) in a regional semifinal next Friday. Central bounced back from its Muck Bowl loss this past week in the best possible way, with a dominating win reminiscent of its championship years. Deonte Thompson had five catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns, as the Raiders shredded the Wolverines' defense through the air. Link |
