I'm sure several of you are chomping at the bit to say "so that's the big surprise?"...but keep in mind 22 told you that it was nothing more than lip service, and that turned out to be true.

I am very thankful we got Deonte Thompson to come to Florida. I was very worried he would go to Ohio State or Miami or even Florida State, but I was hoping he would come to Florida. I think Florida was the best fit, because Meyers' team is built around speed, and Deonte is a very fast Wide Receiver. Meyer can use him as a WR/RB/PR/KR. He seems like a very versatile player.

Wish GatorsAreGood was able to see this thread rear it's head again.
Deonte Thompson is reportedly one of five freshmen at other schools who are calling Randy Shannon to ask about transferring in. |

In a completely unrelated story to the rumors of Thompson wanting out.....Thompson gets his first start of the season against Auburn this week. How completely coincidental.

Weird how that worked out.

Never really thought he was going to leave, especially with Caldwell graduating this year. The start also comes on the heels of Caldwell being ruled "doubtful" for the Auburn game.
