On one of those plays, ND's center hit the dirt after barely grazing the guy he was supposed to block. He didn't even slip! He snapped the ball, and fell to the ground.

I'd like to think that the recently deceased Boots Randolph of Yakety Sax fame is smiling in heaven watching that video.
You think Jimbo would realize that he cannot hold the ball for 5 seconds back there with that OL. Then again, based on some of the photos I've seen, he doesn't see that bright. Nevermind.

I think in the Clausen family... "seconds" (whatever they are) are measured by the number words of the "Rocky Top" chorus you have to sing... so if he wants to get rid of it in 4 seconds, that's really "9 Rocky Tops" ("Rocky Top will always be home sweet home to").
They will never figure this out in South Bend.
Dont' tell Charlie Weiss.

There has been a lot of talk of whiffs and half-hearted play (see in a related ND thread the Irish Blog link talking of Premium material from Rivals).
From what I can tell, true ND fans, as distinct from bandwagon jumpers and subway alumni, are thoroughly embarrassed by the current display of ineptitude.
Frankly, they should be feeling that way.

Ah yes, the Volunteer arithmetic. Though I think in the Clausen family seconds are like the QB play, sloppy.

Haven't seen him play yet. Is he looking like a bust?

Ron Zook has a special ability to treat people from all walks of life equally and with respect. He is especially beloved by minorities who can recognize disingenuous phoneys a mile away. Since a large number of the best football players are minorities, Coach Zook has an advantage in recruiting.
