I assume this was the case with JamO since he verballed during hi sophomore year?
We also have BB verbal from a player who is now a sophomore who verballed as a freshman?
Also found it interesting that Petey told Jimmy Clausen that they have never offered a player as a Junior before. That has gotta be bull[censored].... Petey's #1 guy.....

There's no way they didn't offer Noel Devine as a junior, or other obvious studs like that.

Fella,
I watch most of that last night...way passed midnight. Based on what I have seen, I do not believe it was Tom Friend that went "hunting" for recruiting violation in this one. He was doing this piece because of all the attention paid to Clausen. In fact, Clausen and his dad were the ones showing off his letters and offers to ESPN, which took full advantage of the violation. In one part, the lr. Clausen said that PC told him that he is the first junior that PC has ever offered; I doubt that it is true coming from Petey, but I have no hard facts to disapproved that. The letter was sent to Clausen in July of 2005 according to the show. My question is, what did we do differently for Super Mario when he commited to us while he was a sophomore? I did remember one part of the show when one of the experts said that it would have been okay if it was Clausen that have sought out the school first. That is kind of ironic because that was the phrase that Clausen's father used refering to South Carolina. I wonder if those words were encouraged by Steve Spurrier himself so that SC will not appeared to have violated any rules. I did miss a little bit of the beginning, which might change my opinion stated above.

Clausen
There is nothing that happens regarding Jr. is not carefully planned and orchestrated by Sr. He knows exactly what he's doing. If there was/is a "leak", it was a puposeful one. Sr. is well versed in the rules. Over the next 2 years, you'll see. Jr. will be the most hyped player ever. Aside from Lebron. And that's only becuase football players are amatuers. If endorsements were possible Sr. would make it happen. the guy is a "peice of work" to say the least! Trust me.
