Thanks bigbro. He does sound like a great athlete. I would love to see him in the Scarlet and Gray. The depth chart is definitely appealing to him playing early.

Discussion of O'Dowd's performance at the L.A. Scout combine. His battle with Everson Griffen is noted as is his nasty, competitive attitude during the drills.
Definitely my kind of OL.

"Ohio State" not "Oregon State"
For those who read the Scout.com website with regards to the latest article on Kristofer O'Dowd ... the schools Kristofer has listed as his current three schools of interest are Arizona, USC and Ohio State (not Oregon State as listed in the article).

BIG BRO,
Is distance a factor at all with Kris? I seem to remember you saying that it really wouldn't play into his recruitment, but I just wanted to make sure.
Understandably, it has to be difficult going so far from home at such a young age.
That said, it's going to be tough for him to find a support system as tight as the one that coach Tressel has put together at Ohio State. The Dispatch just ran an article on Bobby Carpenter, AJ Hawk, and Anthony Schlegel and the relationship that they have developed during their time at Ohio State. They were all at the WHAC lifting at 6:00 am the week after the draft. Coach Tressel is all about building a family atmosphere within the team.

Distance does not appear to be a factor because, being from Arizona, you have to go out of state to play for a top 10 program. The only top 10 program even close to AZ is USC ... all of the other Top 10 programs require a varying degree of plane travel.
And, Columbus is obviously not a little or even college dependent town ... but he was visiting Los Angeles (the spawling land of millions) when the quote was made. Plus, he is 17 years old and has limited references.
