We all know recruting is a hype game... change game, but if there is a recruit who I think OSU "missed on" it is him.. He is a football player... plain and simple... We will see as the seasons unfold...I will state the last "miss" I said was Donte Sanders..hahah... and that is why I am typing on Buckeyeplanet... and not a DIV I coach...lol

JONES' BIG DEBUT: True freshman backup linebacker Greg Jones was one of the defensive standouts against UAB, recording seven tackles, including a sack for a loss of six yards.

"He did great," Kaleb Thornhill said. "You know, it's funny, he's my roommate in the hotel and we were talking before the game and he was saying, 'Man, I can't believe I'm on kickoff return and I'm going to start the game.' I said. 'You know, you can start your career by making a statement.' You could see in his eyes that he really wanted to go out and play."

No wonder he's already one of Michigan State's most effective defenders as a true freshman and aspires to be an electrical engineer.

"He has instincts and football awareness," Spartan linebackers coach Mike Tressel said after Tuesday evening's practice. "You don't have to coach every little thing. He has a natural feel."

Why the hell didn't Lloyd Carr offer him?

I guess he actually thought we were better off at LB'er with Marrell Evans (2*, no longer with the team), Austin Panter (4* JUCO, was with the team 1 year, and was awful while here, left to never be heard from again), Brandon Herron (3*, back-up to true freshman Craig Roh), and Steve Watson (3*, started off at TE, switched to OLB under Greg Robinson).

Because he's short. However, he's also a demon on the field, like his position and size comrade Brian rolle.
