A thought that came to my mind while watching Josh was that he was picking up "lazy" habits. I do not want to sound like I am dumping on this kid because a "kid" is what he is. There were times during the games where it was like he was saying to himself, "Screw it, they're not running to my side so get ready for the next play." I also feel that his coach really doesn't know how to handle his talent because he has never had a player of his quality before. Perhaps my earlier post gave the impression that I thought this kid could be a bust, I really don't feel that way. He will be very good but let's not put him in the High School Hall of Fame just yet. I want Josh at Illinois you want him at OSU and we both don't want him at ND. Craps, I hope I am making some sense in my posts.

I agree about keeping him away from ND.
Just curious how he looked in terms of technique??

Take whoever's advice you want but I never said that Illinois doesn't have a chance but just that ND had a better shot at the sweep. Grades are the only barrier from Hughes and Wilson going to ND imo.

the only thing that sways him to Champaign IMO is if Wilson, Benn and Hughes all opt for the Illini.

while I agree, that's not a huge "if" anymore...

his technique for the most part looked pretty damn good. I thought he had a look of being "light" on his feet, especially at the beginnings. It was kinda funny at the start because you could tell the opposing teams was scared to death of him. Good reaction time but not as vocal on the field as I thought he could be. Best word to describe him is "Raw." I believe a major factor in his decision for choosing a school is early playing time. I don't see a coaching staff giving him a starting job because I think he will be "shell shocked" when going up against guys with his skill level. Many of the opposing teams went at his feet to get him on the ground and by the third quarter I think all of that getting up and down was fatiguing him.

"RAW" is the same term used to describe Barksdale. Current Buckeyes
Vernon Golhston, and Robert Rose were very raw in high school. Raw is not all bad.

Central Catholic played the majority of the three quarters without standout offensive and defensive lineman Josh Brent, who suffered a high ankle sprain on the first play of the second quarter. Brent returned for a couple of defensive plays midway through the third quarter.
Brents team won the game, but it was the opening round of the playoffs, they are going to need him healthy for next week.
