Thanks, Wad. I cannot imagine that TSUN would tell him anything other than OSU would - the best player plays. (Only Petey promises them they'll start
). If the young man is looking for guarantees, there are none - in football or in life. Other articles I read indicate there may be a collusion for some pretty talented kids to go to Illinois, and you know, that might not be a bad idea. They know they can play pretty early, and they're helping their 'home state'. And who knows? They may even stand out enough to be looked at by teh pro scouts, and invited to the combine........... Thanks to all who keep these Boards up with the updates, they're invaluable to those of us without the time (or ability) to keep track of these 18 year olds life-changing decisions. And how they affect my beloved Buckeyes....... I still believe that when all the shooting is over, Tress & Co will 'coach up' the players OSU does get, and we'll be pretty decent also. So, just remember that "OSU will be at the top for some time to come" also. |

whether it's the Buckeyes or the Illini, I'm fairly certain he'll announce with Tez on the 20th. He ain't going to Michigan in January.
If they are indeed announcing together, I'd have to think they're both going to be Illini. |

Amazing how the Illinois folk are coming out of the woodwork now...exactly like the Iowa fans in '04-'05. |

. It's kinda been unfortunate that our recruiting efforts have been affected by recent surprise classes in the Big Ten, but if anyone has the right to complain, it's the Notre Dames and the Michigans of the world, teams that need to get these kids from the Midwest and the East Coast because of the lack of instate talent. Just think what ND's OL would be like had they been able to land Doering, Richardson and Eubanks in '04. |

The main factor in most of the big years for these teams is location. The thing is we get on the kids b/c of our program and how it speaks for itself, the other schools like Ill, Iowa, and PSU have big years when the talent around them is higher in quality.
That is the main reason why they can't sustain the success, b/c they are not able to branch out like we can and grab a top player from Penn, Ill or Florida... |

Man, would have been nice to have him on the D-line the next few years. He will be a stud, who will make big plays for the Illini. Zook has done a great job since he took over. I think that the Illini will be a team to be dealt with in the short near future?
