Gets rid of that whole "trying to steal recruits" undertone of doing it otherwise. Plus it shows genuine interest in the Ohio State program if they decide to contact us even though they have verbally committed elsewhere.

From the Palm Beach Post
Quote:
Ponte Vedra Beach-Nease offensive lineman James Wilson lists Florida as one of his college choices and has backed off his commitment to Southern California, according to Rivals.com.
Wilson, Tebow's former high school teammate, committed to USC on Aug. 1, picking the Trojans over Notre Dame.
Wilson said Meyer, Ohio State's Jim Tressel and USC's Pete Carroll have contacted him, but Notre Dame's Charlie Weis has not.
Wilson seems to be worried about the allegations against Reggie Bush while he was at USC, which the NCAA is investigating.
Rivals rates Wilson as the No. 33 overall prospect and the No. 2 overall offensive guard.

Ahh yes....Petie the players friend is now going to have an uphill battle with recruits. The Maurice C. saga has taught us well about what recruits are told by "other" programs.......isn't that right Rico McCoy. I'm sure the southern schools are calling all committed and uncommitted USC recruits trying to fan the flames on the USC fire. What a mess.
If Tressel is calling Wilson, then I'm sure he is keeping up with the other 2007 OL. I don't believe all of this nonsense about us backing off on any 2007 OL recruits because of the "guaranteed" 2008 OL recruits.

James says he is still firmly committed to USC. He says the only other program still recruiting him is Florida.

James says he is firmly committed but is taking visits. He says he is visiting tOSU because JT is a friend of the family.

By BK...Clyde Yandell talks about him and James' trip to Columbus. Both seem pretty set in sticking with their commitments.
No need for a Clyde Yandell thread or to move this back to the main recruiting forum unless something serious happens...like a firing down at GT or PfC leaving for the NFL.
