From the Colorado site...Hunter has written offers from Colorado, Michigan State, Minnesota, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Wake Forest. He favors VT slightly over Iowa and OSU.

Ovens is an athletic prospect with a nice motor for the defensive side of the ball. He shows some prowess as a runner with the ball and could be looked at as a fullback, but he is best suited at the college level as a linebacker. He has a good frame for the position. He is physical at the point of attack but is more of a collision-type player. You would like to see him use his hands more to engage and shed from blockers. He displays the lateral mobility to sidestep blocks and avoid some contact. He looks most comfortable playing in space and flowing to the ball. He has solid straight-line speed and takes good angles to the ball. He is a solid wrap-up tackler and displays the ability to make the play in space. He has adequate change-of-direction skills but can seem a bit stiff in the hips. As a blitzer, he comes hard and is a bit more proficient at using his hands to defeat blockers. He does a good job of playing half a man. In coverage, he could struggle to cover man to man with backs and tight ends but can drop into coverage and handle zone responsibilities. Overall, Ovens is a prospect with ability and should be able to contribute at the college level as a linebacker.

Rivals film review:
Some plays Hunter blows a kid up...others he just kind of tries to throw the ballcarrier to the ground. I would like to see more film of him on defense. On offense, I wouldn't mind seeing him get an offer if we are not going to offer Hynoski...he could come in as a FB/LB and we could find a spot for him later. They use him a the lead blocker out of the I, the featured back out of the I and even as a RB out of a shotgun option attack. He is obviously a pretty tough kid who reads the game well and looks pretty fluid with the ball in his hands. I remember another LB/FB who came to OSU from Centerville with the exact same measurables (6-2 220 4.6 3.0 GPA) and turned out to be pretty damn good...

Sunshine Preps video
This reel evens shows Hunter returning some kicks. It also shows him being a little more agressive on defense. Some of the same clips on offense as on the Rivals reel are also included. He reacts well in space and has enough quickness to play OLB in high school. He may not end up being worthy of an offer given the haul we took in 2006, but I really like this kid's potential.
