Actually, I think that would be sweet. Beanie jump-starts his Heisman campaign in Seattle.

I wouldn't be too surprised if their 5th-year seniors remind the rest of the team of the 28-9 ass-whipping we gave them on opening day of 2003.

They also almost beat USC last year. I think OSU will take care of business, but they could certainly surprise everyone. Myself, I'd love to see Washington return to relevance for Ty's sake, as well as ending the 1-team "conference" out west.

Husky Stadium has to be the prettiest one in America. It sits right on the edge of a good sized lake. Many boaters tie up and "tail gate" on the water with an excellent view of Mt. Rainier in the background. At one point in time a Wash U. fullback held the single game rushing record for Ohio Stadium. I watched that one in amazement... something like my junior or senior year, so 65 or 66. |

Their secondary sounds like it needs completely rebuilt. This would be great for Boeckman's confidence if the coaches let him wing it(doubtful).
One can always hope! |

But neither are they. At least Boeckman (assuming he is the starter) has had a some years to sit back and learn.

Mili, we have family in outer-Seattle area & have driven by UDub stadium many times. Attended a San Diego State game there a few years back. IMO, UW stadium doesn't compare to The Horseshoe, as it has modified open ends, and, at the time had rock-hard artificial turf. Fans were pretty mellow, but SDSt didn't give the locals much to worry about. Can't help much on local color or billets. Have a great trip to watch our Bucks win by 2tds.

In all reality I think that we'll beat the Huskies next season. But lets not lose sight that this will be a huge test to an offense with little leadership. If things get tough, you don't have a field general like Troy Smith to bail them out. I'll think that way until I see what the new guys have to offer. Don't discount how big this being a road game is. It's a perfect trap game, and it's the first road game of the season. They'll be geeked out of their brains to have the Buckeyes in town. Everyone wants a piece of what many consider one the top 3-4 programs in the country. We'll get their best shot. Quote:

I am planning to go to the game myself (went to OSU/UW game about 8?? years ago, old college roomate met me in Seattle and we had good time; DESPITE UW pulling some bull[censored] onside kick in first half that basically was the winning margin in that game
) Anyways being out of the loop here in Spokane, WA for quite a while (1987 The OSU grad ) now I am wondering how best to score tickets. This side of state is mainly Cougar fans so not many connections, would like to score 4 or so tickets so me and family can go...Any suggestions would be appreciated; have e-mailed OSU alumni guy in Seattle couple of times but no response from him. |
