Agree its probably an error on the Ozone's part but maybe some games were played when one of us wasn't in the B10 or Western conf? Probably not but its just a thought for why they may be off.

That's exactly what I thought, Jax. That's why I went to that page at Stassen.

But OSU seems to have been 3-4 in the series outside of the data that the O-Zone have; and the series started with 5 straight wins by the Buckeyes. So unless one of the teams was in the conference and left and came back, I can't figure out what happened here.

EDIT:

A check of the Big 10 web-site reveals that Northwestern is an inaugural member of the conference (1895) and OSU has been a member since 1912. The first game between the two was in 1913.

EDIT II:

The teams played every year 1913-1917, and then not again until 1927. If someone noticed those first 5 games and then missed NU on the schedule in 1927-1933 (thereby omitting those games from the record), then the resulting record matches the O-Zone numbers.

Random numbers for the OSU-NU series...

The 33 points scored by Northwestern in the overtime loss in 2004 is their most ever against the Buckeyes, and their only single game total in excess of 28 points.

The 27 points scored in regulation time of that game is tied with their efforts in 1946 and 1989 for the 2nd most points ever against the Buckeyes in regulation (both double-digit losses for the Wildcats).

The Buckeyes average score against Northwestern is 27.14 points. The Wildcats have managed 9.32 ppg against OSU.

Since 1973 (inclusive) the average score is 42.54 - 10.88

The only time the Wildcats exceeded 27 points in this series (in regulation) was in their 40-28 loss in 1982.


Apart from the games already mentioned, Northwestern has scored 20 or more points against the Buckeyes on the following occasions:

• 1948 - 21 points
• 1952 - 21 points
• 1958 - 21 points
• 1968 - 21 points
• 1978 - 20 points
• 2001 - 20 points

Northwestern is 3-7 in the series when scoring 20 or more points.

The debacle in 2004 was the only time the Buckeyes have lost to Northwestern when scoring more than 14 points.

Looks like a typo. The 54-10 is the score from last year's game.
