That's a bloody good point. They will disappear into the night. Engineering university, right?

Forgot that one. I always just remember Bama doing some cane stomping in '91.
So of da U's 5 NC's only 3 were won on their home field....only
USC only has 1 NC won away from the Rose Bowl right?
Like I said...lets play some "neutral" games in Cleveland, Cincy or hell even Columbus and see how comfortable other teams would be with that.

Correct - only 1 of USC's NC's since the AP poll started in 1936 was finished off with a non Rose-Bowl win. (2004)
But their NC's in '62 and '67 were voted before the Bowl games, as was the Coaches Poll NC in '72 (AP waited until after their Rose Bowl win that year).
So it could be said that their NC's from national polls were benefited by playing in the Rose Bowl only after these seasons: '72 (AP, they'd already won UPI), '74 (AP), '78 (AP), and '03 (AP).
They also won Rose Bowls and are considered to have won an NC after the '31 and '32 seasons, but I don't know if the Bowl games were factored into the services that determined the NC back then (I'm guessing they were not).
I agree with your point, however. I would have liked to have seen tOSU play a Bowl Game in Ohio after the '70, '74, '75, and '79 seasons.

Typically can catch that early Thursday Evening or at 7PM-EST on Wednesday. Wish they had the Buckeye Replay at a more convenient time (DVR only for me).
Here meanwhile is the view from Ed Grimley wannabe

Josh Michaels at the Purdue Student newspaper " The Exponent"
Sum and substance - he wants a win over Ohio State so that he cleanse his mind of an awful thing that happened to Purdue when they faced a high ranked Wisonsin team on October 16th, 2004.
Don't they teach student journalist's NOT to indulge convoluted logic these days. It makes you sound so -- weak. Oh, wait Mandel - SI.com, never-mind.

Don't run the ball when your up 14-0? l know this guy that wears sweater vests and owns a glass football and he would disagree.
"The Exponent" needs a new sports writer.

Purdue might be OSU?s biggest test
Jim Naveau | jnaveau@limanews.com - 10.03.2007
COLUMBUS ? Back in 2003 through 2005, when Ohio State lost on the road and under the lights at places like Penn State, Wisconsin and Northwestern, coach Jim Tressel resisted the idea that his football team struggled under those conditions.
But when it was pointed out on Tuesday that the Buckeyes have seemed to reverse that trend lately with 10 straight road victories, including wins at night at Texas and Iowa last year, and at Minnesota last week, Tressel wasn?t ready to concede there has been some 180-degree turnaround.
?I remember a night game in January where we didn?t do real great,? he said referring to OSU?s 41-14 loss to Florida in the BCS championship game. ?It?s just a faint memory.?
Technically, that game was at a neutral site. But No. 4 Ohio State (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) won?t be in a neutral zone when it goes to No. 23 Purdue (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) on Saturday night (8 p.m., ABC-TV).
