There is nothing the Buckeyes can do about the real nor perceived weaknesses in their opponents this year. In fact, I won't even go through the litany of the obvious about why and how long ago different teams were scheduled.
All they can do is win out. The rest will take care of itself.

Haven't heard anything definitive on Russell (who returned in street clothes), but Animal being held out was merely precautionary, hip pointer from being kicked there.

Agreed, however IMO our problem is not our schedule, but rather our soft conference. (11 wins 17 losses in bowls since 2003)
Big question is, if we win out how do we match up with a team from a more competitive conference?

Remember, top 2 go to NO! We don't have to be #1!

Right now the two top contenders to meet up with the Buckeyes are South Florida and Boston College.
Now, this next isn't a critique of the relative merits of those two teams. Rather it is a rhetorical question.
Is either the ACC or the Big East demonstrably more competitive than the Big 10? I don't believe so. (Unless, that is, your definition of competitive purely means greater parity within said league).
So, isn't your real question this:
How will the Buckeyes fare if the win out and play a one-loss team that played a tougher schedule than the Buckeyes?

I was thinking we could win out but not S Fla or BC. The winner of the Pac 10 or SEC would be the one loss team that we would probably have to prepare for. Mi[censored]again and Wussconsin probably couldn't beat Oregon, USC, LSU, Flor, Auburn etc...
Plus the first 7 teams we've played have been very very bad.
All that said, I'm a Buckeye, and know in my heart we have the best program going. I just wish we were better tested last year and this year for post season play.
