This was cool:

Re: Best Student Section in the Country My Ass

I met alot of really cool Ohio State fans this weekend. Alot of really good people from Columbus.

Funny story, my roomate and our neighbor were going to the bathroom and stopped off at an OSU tailgate and were treated to all the beer and food they wanted. Turns out they were Hartline's family.
Yikes:

Re: Best Student Section in the Country My Ass
When they came back to the game after the last time out, when Ohio State was singing their fight song with their fans, our students were pelting then with stuff. It was a sad mess.
I know BB73 was going, not sure how many others, but there is a lot of talk on their board about some pretty deplorable behavior. If it's "self-reported" so-to-speak, I gotta believe it. Too bad a few mooks can ruin what should be a great experience.

I should have known! Thanks and thanks also to NFBuck and jlb1705. It is SO much fun to be a Buckeye in enemy territory. I have many Wolverine friends and colleagues and I revel in reminding them about the task ahead in late November. Go Bucks!

1) Who cares what the writers write? Their "job" is to sell papers (or internet adverts), not to make accurate assements/predictions about the state of college football.

2) This was the "best" win of the year for Ohio State. In their third "first test of the year", the Buckeyes thoroughly domintated a decent Penn State team, on the road, at night, in "white out" conditions.

3) Ohio State had only three "bad" plays all night, by my count: (a) the interception near the end of the first half; (b) the blind-side sack of Boeckman in the second half; and (c) the kick-off return for a touchdown near the end of the game. Only one of those three plays led to a Penn State score (the kick-off return), and that was when the Buckeyes led the game 37-10, with about four minutes left in the game. All-out domination by the best team in the country, once again.

4) With Florida's loss to Georgia in the "World's Largest Cocktail Party", there is now a three-loss SEC team better than Ohio State.

5) Chris Wells is dominant. Duh! Look for him to receive lots of Heisman talk next year ... after rushing for 1,500+ yards this year.

6) Memo to all Mo Wells bashers: get a clue. The kid runs hard every time his number is called, and he understands the nuances of the game far better than true freshman Brandon Saine. He's the solid #2 back in this offense. If you don't like it, then move on....

7) Brian Robiskie has the best hands of any Buckeye receiver that I've ever seen. Period. He was robbed by the replay officials tonight, but otherwise he caught everything that was even remotely catchable ... with his hands ... away from his body ... just like an NFL coach might teach his son.

8) Speaking of the replay officials ... Apparently, the current standard of review in the Big Ten is as follows: If there is any video evidence that the officials on the field (even if they are only three feet away from the play) made the wrong call, then the call on the field will be overturned. Total BS! Robo got robbed, but the Bucks scored a TD anyway, so "no harm, no foul", I guess....

9) Penn State threw their entire playbook at the Bucks tonight - delays, screen, counters, reverses, play-action passes, and all sorts of combinations of the above - and it still didn't work. The Nits scored only 10 points on offense, and just 3 after their initial drive.

10) Could there possibly be two more overrated players in the country than Derrick Williams and Justin King? Both were "five-star" recruits coming out of high school, yet both are playing like "three-star" guys, and neither would start for Ohio State right now ... or even be in the two-deep. Throw in Anthony Morelli and A.J. Wallace, and Penn State has four "blue chip" recruits who aren't doing much of anything right now.

11) Joe Paterno used to be a disgrace to Penn State, but now he's a disgrace to all of college football. Yes, it's official - JoPa has now forgotten more football than I know, and that's saying something. He's a good decade (or more) past his prime, and getting worse as time goes by. Even with his "rogue's gallery" of players (Connor, Scirotto, Quarless, etc.), he still couldn't give Ohio State a game tonight. Pathetic, truly pathetic.

12) The Big Ten is Ohio State, and everybody else. It's a one-team conference, with all of the other teams being irrelevant on the national level. And it's been that way since 1966, with the exception of Penn State in 1994 (undefeated, but no title) and Michigan in 1997 (AP title only). Yes, the national media are correct - the Big Ten is a joke ... with the exception of Ohio State, who can play with any team in the country.

13) Dare I say it? Todd Boeckman is a better quarterback than Troy Smith. Not as good an athlete, not a "dual threat", not as likely to make the "big play", not a highlight reel waiting to happen, not a Heisman candidate, but better at basic quarterbacking skills - reading the defense, standing in the pocket, releasing the ball quickly, making accurate throws. TB is more than capable of winning a national championship ... this year.

14) The Buckeye defense looked a bit soft tonight, but could that have been the scheme? I'll defer to those who know (osugrad21), but it looked to me like the Buckeyes were conceding the middle of the field. And, they gave up only ten points, to a decent Penn State team, on the road, at night, during "white out" conditions. Just another day at the office for this bunch....

15) And speaking of "white outs" ... if the highlight of your season is holding a "white out" (or "black out" or "gold out" or ...) at night, to the number one team in the country, and getting your collective asses kicked all the way across your home state, then your team is truly irrelevant. Penn State can now join Iowa and Purdue as teams who mean absolutely nothing, either in the Big Ten or on the national scene. Good riddance....

16) Once again, it's all down to Michigan, as it should be.

Wow. I don't know if I could put him ahead of Carter just yet. He made some unreal catches.
