Well... now that I think about it. I do recall making a stop at Walgreen's before the game. Maybe that skunkbear CEO had his employees put something in my cough syrup that night.

I was just talking about this on lunch, one of my buddies said, "so who comes back next year?" We got to talking about the possibility of going back to back, and becoming the next "dynasty" as they seem to come in cycles and if we were to win out this year, and next year.. that would be 4 national title games since 02 |

This game has been announced as a national broadcast on ABC.

I'm praying gameday goes somewhere else. That would be hilarious.

USC @ Oregon that day. My guess is they would go there if both continue to win.

I really am looking forward to this game.
It's going to be a crazy atmosphere to start off, but those fans are just waiting for a chance to come down on Morelli. One or two mistakes and they'll be all over him like hair on a gorilla. I know the "night history" at Beaver Stadium, but I just feel that these are two programs headed in opposite directions. Ohio State wins by two TDs. |

AM has been playing better, I'll give him that but its been against some pretty bad D's. I'm hoping it gives him confidence to try some things against us because he hasn't played a back 7 with our speed all year. The key against him and the PSU offense is for AM to face adversity early, he goes south mentally very easily.
As far as the overall game goes this entire week will be about the home field advantage/whiteout/past close games and losses in Happy Valley. I don't think anyone will be saying PSU has a chance to win because they are better than us, they will get picked as having a chance because of where and when they game is played. I don't get the same ol same ol at Happy Valley vibe as I have in years past. I think we're going to be just fine. |

Penn State kicked three FGs against Indiana. Indiana's D stopped their O on these drives so the prediction for our next game will be more of the same from our stingy D. They have a good punter at 45 yards each. Morelli threw for 22 out of 32 for 195 yards mostly short passes from 10 to 20 yards (averaging about 9 per completion). They weren't too good on third down conversion 5 out of 13.

No turnovers = huge win, IMO.
I hope that the Bucks annihilate their offense. |

No turnovers, we win. (edit: I see this was covered above. Jolly good show.)
I'm liking the Bucks 21-10. Another good day from rejuvenated Beanie, another good-but-not-great day from Boeckman. Something along the lines of 1 TD, 2 picks and over 60 percent completion percentage. |

PSU's defense has given up an average of 347 yds and 20 points to tsun, Wisky, Illinois and Indiana so far this year. I don't care how they did against Buffalo, FIU, Iowa or ND. The first 4 schools are most similar to OSU in terms of offensive talent even though they are somewhat different schematically. We are a hybrid of all 4 styles and imo at least as good offensively as any of those teams.
The best defense they have faced to date is tsun's where they put up a whopping 270 total yards and 9 points. Now, I fully understand that was due in large part to a mental block vs tsun the size of a Mangino-Weis group hug but still...its worth noting. Versus Illinois, Iowa, Wisky and IU they averaged 30 ppg on Offense. Lets be realistic and cut that in half, being kind lets say they get 14 points. Barring TO's and giving PSU's offense 14 points because of the home field advantage they enjoy I'll say OSU 21 PSU 14. Then knowing its never like that, there will be FG's aplenty I say something like 24-17 OSU...and thats absolutely worst case scenario/they got points off TO's or a short field kind of thing. Things of note: -PSU has struggled in KO coverage. We never get to do this more than once or twice a game but its worth keeping an eye on. -PSU does a good job of punt returns. -They are a very good pass rushing team. This is a key for the game. We will have to spread them out and throw to set up the run. Pass pro could be one of the big keys to the game. Bottom line to me is still the blackjack principle as it has been all year. Score 21+ and we'l be fine. |
