I know it's an easy thing to say...don't turn the ball over and they'll win, but truth is, OSU is at +0 for the season in turnover margin and yet we're still winning, and rather convincingly.

The Bucks will not be blowing Penn State, Illinois and scUM out like we've been doing. Very good observation. There are different types of turnovers as well. When you throw an interception deep into your opponent's territory (like Purdue), and with the quality of tOSU's defense, that is not a disaster. When you throw a pick six, or fumble close to your own goalline, especially on the road, that's a disaster. It's critical not to have the "disaster" turnovers this week, and to win special teams. I know it sounds cliche, but most Buckeye-Penn State games have been determined by a few critical plays and field position. Win those situations and the Bucks should be in good position to beat a tough opponent in a very tough environment. Hope I'm wrong, I'd love to win a blowout, but expect a four quarter war.

Coach Tressel and Todd Boeckman are going to be very very close this week. Very close.

And that's a good thing. Boeckman will get a lot of attention and love this week and he will be a major asset against PSU, not a liability.

How many times will he watch those two turnover/touchdowns??

I'd say, Buckeyes 34, PSU 6. Still no shutout but no TDs either.

I hope so. He's certainly playing at that level. However, I think it's important to mention that Troy (who was almost always cool under pressure) was affected by the Happy Valley crowd last time we were there. It will be a significant challenge for Todd to stay focused. He can do it, but it will be tough.

Another 150 yards or so from Beanie would make it a LOT easier...

Troy was more affected by that '05 PSU defense than that crowd imo.

HV is as tough a roadie at night as anywhere in the country, no doubt about it BUT you have to have the tem to back it up. There is a big difference in the caliber of the 2 teams this year that wasn't there in '05.

Usually when we have had a far better team we have had to struggle to win but we've done it. 1995 and 2003 come to mind. 1997 and 2005 I'd say the two teams were pretty even and the games were close losses.

2001 is the only time I've felt we had a better team and lost. '94 and '99 we weren't even close to them going into the game, it didn't matter if we played on the moon.

I don't know why but once this year got under way I've just been calm and confident about this game. All off season I was mentally chalking up an L.

Purdue and MSU and Penn State are very similar. MSU and Purdue have much much better offenses and PSU has a much better D.

AS you said, as long as you don't [censored]/beat yourselves like you tried to do in the 3rd Q on Sat you will win, but I think a BIG BIG WIN is very possible.

PSU has beaten nobody worth a damn. Beating Wisc w/o Smith and without Swann is not an accomplishment, beating Iowa without any WR's is not an accomplishment. You saw what MSU did to Indiana, and PSU could barely beat them even with a bunch of giftwrapped scores from it's D.

Morelli is very similar to Hoyer but even more prone to mistakes...
