I can't believe I missed the discussion on this. Do you have a link to what he said? Combined with his appetite for cupcakes that seems about as cowardly a public stance on scheduling as a coach can take. I'm sure he wouldn't mind scheduling night games at home. What a pussy. |

Thanks. Can't believe I missed that one. I never had much respect for the UW program before. Now I have zero. A lot of these kids were on the team in '04 and maybe one or two remember that bull[censored] in '03. I hope we pick right up where we left off with PSU and embarrass the living [censored] out of UW. |

the game will be at 12:00 and will be shown on the big ten network. i am really baffled by this, as the illinois game now becomes 3:30 on abc. i guess abc/espn thinks that the illinois game is a bigger draw.

For the record, Barry Alvarez was 4-2 against Ohio State from 1999 to 2004, and he was 3-1 against Jim Tressel (Jim's win was the 2002 game). Combined score was 75-59 Avalrez.
Maybe the guy was on to something. I mean, we did lose at home in 2003, and Alvarez was a good coach. Too bad for Wisconsin. Bielema is still learning the trade. |

I guess they are going by market size of the opponent. Both games look to be real ugly on paper so why not go for the team from the Chicago market if you are ABC? better chance to get a few more TV sets out of two games that are real snoozers from the networks POV.

Here is my understanding of the situation. ABC opted to take UM/MSU, an instate rivarly game, over OSU/Wisky. The BTN has to get either Wisky or Illinois. Since ABC opted for UM/MSU, the BTN took OSU/Wisky. There is also another possible agenda at work here. IF the BTN got UM/MSU, it would be a huge bargaining tool for the BTN, as Comcast controls the Michigan cable business and they don't have the BTN. I suspect that some cooperation existed for Comcast, due to Fox being a competitor with ABC/ESPN.

I'm not digging the 12 kickoff....... I'm a fan of the 3:30 games personally.
