ahhh yes it is a favorite quote of mine and when it came to picking something for my signature is seemed all too appropriate. I wish I could get 30 secs on ESPN to read it aloud.

Haven't heard anything new on him. I heard last night they were calling it a stinger. Shouldn't be anything long term. Just sucks for him that he had to watch most of his final college game.

He REALLY wanted this game too (yes, I know everyone did).
He was a Senior in High School for the '04 Sugar Bowl, and watched his older brother (Kevin was our FB that year) win a NC with us, since that moment, it was his ultimate goal to do the same thing.

One of the biggest problems this creates for OSU is, if they want to go back to the NCG next year (who wouldn't) they are likely going to have to go undefeated. I don't see the pollsters being real friendly to us next year but who knows.

very. so much for mr. conservative vrs. the riverboat gambler eh?
if tOSU comes out and drives down the field and scores inside of a minute there is 5 1/2 minutes left. thats waaaaaaaaay to much time to milk the clock 3 and out and count on your d to hold a 7 point lead. anyone and their sister can run a 4 or 5 minute offense. the last thing we wanted with 5 min left and down 7 was lsu to come out thinking they absolutely had to score again. however, if your sitting on 3 min and 7 points you probably think kill the clock leave them with a min or so and the d will either stop them or run them out of time.
at the end of the day with the game on the line tOSU had to put its trust in either the offense or the defense. if you trust the d you have to drive down the field fast and count on your d to stop the opposing team to get the ball back into the hands of your o as many times as possible. you would do this if you didn't trust your o to score on consecutive drives. if you are counting on your o to win and not your d you have to limit the amount of time and drives the opposing team has to put you in a deeper hole. so you bank on your d having a better shot of stopping the opposing team once with time running out and hopefully playing conservatively sitting on a lead rather than twice with atleast 1 of those drives intended to win a now tied game. make sense?

Makes perfect sense. It's just coming from an angle I hadn't thought of previously.

Well, if that is the worst that happens it isn't so bad then is it?
Most years having an undefeated season in the BCS conferences will tend to put you in line for the title game. But, the worst might be that you have the three way undefeated rigmarole, say USC, a Big 12 team and Ohio State. Guess which two would go then?
That's right, the one loss SEC team and 'SC.
