Are you serious, A top 5 player in america with a great chance to go to OSU, and we dont offer...he is the top PF in the country for his class.
are we getting that good?
anyway, i dont think an offer would hurt.

in case you haven't followed as closely, Koufos and Lauderdale are all but signed and delivered to OSU, and Mullens verballed about 18 years ago There are only so many big men that you can use.

Ohio State has offered, but there may not be a spot by the time he is ready to make a decision.

Hey Bn I think I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. I know we are sitting really good for Laurderdale and Koufos, but we are in a different period of tOSU bball.
I think that we can put them two on the court at the same time and bring gates off the bench. Gates is a top 5 player in the country, Matta will pull out all the stops to try and get him. I know it is still a little early, but being top 5 is very high and in years past that means that he could of been a threat to jump straight to the NBA. There is no way Matta will not push for talent like that.

I don't think 44820 is saying that Matta won't make a push for Gates...I think what he is trying to say is that it might be a tough sell given all the talent we will be bringing in in '06, '07 and '08. A class in '08 that includes Offutt, Mullens and Gates would be great, but Yancy might want to go somewhere where he has more of an opportunity at early playing time. But I'm sure that won't stop Matta and Peters from trying to get Yancy in Columbus, especially since he and Mullens are AAU teammates.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification.
I still think that Gates becomes a buck in the end.

if we take a shot at Yancy and he chooses somewhere else, than that is fine.
but if we say, well we have too many players, sorry, I'm not ok with that.
sorry Marvin Williams, were stacked...something is not right here?
