Babbit also named a McDonald's All-American ... wish we still had him for rebounding purposes if nothing else, but I guess this means Mullens will just have to average 18 rpg instead of the 12 I was expecting.

No offense but I wish we would really get over this guy. I think Thad thought he had a PF lockdowned for 2008 so probably backed off some guys and then Luke de-sides to stay in Nevada. I know there were family reasons. Actually, I hope we play in Nevada when he is still there and we beat the hell out of them. I just think he really hurt us. Sorry for venting.

He probably shouldn't have committed until he was 100%, but I'm not going to come down too hard on the kid. How many high school seniors-to-be bounce their college choices back and forth a hundred times before making a a final choice. They have the luxury of it not becoming a national sports story. Everything I've heard from Reno is that he's a good, decent kid who simply had an honest change of heart.
That being said, I'd love to play Nevada in football or basketball. I grew up there and have been waiting for that game since I made my college choice. I had kinda pinned my hopes on TM scheduling a home-and-home with Nevada due to Babbitt coming to Columbus. Too bad.

fwiw...hooley said on buckeye blitz that Luke might be interested in coming to tOSU afterall....he says the Nevada coach may take the Cal job which may release Babbitt to come to tOSU
he didn't site any sources...could be nothing more than speculation on his part

Wowwie... that would be a huge pickup for the Bucks in an area of serious need. Hope to see some more smoke on that one. No matter what he decides, he'll see playing time.
I guess we will just have to have our fingers crossed for Nevada's coach. Whoever gets offered that Cal job is going to be in a good situation which ought to be awfully tough to turn down.
