We have plenty of wing players as discussed in the Basketball Recruiting thread. We are lacking at the PG recruiting and the PF recruiting for 08.

I don't think we would reach out to him...But if he reached out to us I would be hard pressed to turn him down...It would obviously crowd the wing, and we know that we need PF, but we could still pull a PF in 09 if we did get Ebanks...
This is all moot tho, b/c first IU would have to let him out of his LOI and he would have to reach out to us...Don't see any of this happening...

Ebanks is considering opting out of his IU committment. He had a provision in LOI that he could be released from it in the event of a head coaching change.

Letters of intent for Ebanks, Holloway allow them to go elsewhere with Sampson's exit
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University basketball signees Devin Ebanks and Terrell Holloway have provisions in their letters of intent that could release them from their commitment because of coach Kelvin Sampson's resignation Friday.
IU athletic director Rick Greenspan did not identify them but said "one or two recruits" had letters with escape clauses related to NCAA Tournament bans or a change of coaches.
"That's a commitment obviously we'd honor," Greenspan said.
"The next challenge for this coaching staff will be to reach out to those young men and provide them some sense of comfort and normalcy in an environment that's very different than when they committed."
Ebanks, a 6-8 forward from New York, is rated among the top 10 players in the country, according to recruiting services.

OK, let's put this out there for 40 and Junkie. What's the chances here that we can get in with Devin?

See post #17 to see what 40 had to say. Ewbanks is more of a SF rather than a 4 despite his height.
