NBAPC Notes
OSUBJ, merge this or whatever...I just didn't want to post this over and over in every kid's thread...
ESPN Insider ESPN - NBPA Camp recap Day 1, Night - Insider Those mentioned include Crater, Mullens, Brandon Knight, Gates, Noel Johnson, Babbitt, Favors and Xavier Henry. Crater's stock could be back on the rise...he supposedly has worked on the pick and roll quite a bit and was knocking down some jumpers. Knight is talked about as the top freshman. Henry has been deadly from deep. |

Rivals
Mullens got taken to school some by Samardo Samuels...The report did say he had his moments tho...Also another jab from Rivals about Crater's play... I still think that Mullens struggles against some quicker more athletic big men, but when he gets here I think his offensive game is just going to be too overpowering for anyone to stop, and I think that he will improve his post defense against the quicker, athletic big men... I am still waiting for Rivals to realize that it is not always about who puts up the most points, especially at the point guard and sometimes guys that shoot too much from the pg position can do more damage to the offense than good. He controls the game, and he is a kid that will fill his role in the system and AAU ball, pickup camp ball is not his type of game where he excels in... |

I realize that, but there will be atletic big men that he will face...Much like Oden had to face this year and at times forced us out of man to man to defense...But much like Oden, Mullens will be a stopper at the glass.

I have noticed that Scout has been high on Mullens during this camp but that Rivals has been a tad bit critical of his play. Lets not forget he is coming off an injury......

Honestly, there are maybe five centers in all of college basketball with the Athleticism of Samuels. It will be extremely odd for Mullens to match up with players like that at center. Most of the time, Mullens will be stronger, bigger, and likely even more athletic than his opposing center.
I mean, coming out below Samuels is hardly something to be down about. |
