'08 SC WR/DB A.J. Green (Georgia signee)
'08 SC WR/DB A.J. Green
Scout Profile ![]() ![]() Wide Receiver Summerville (SC) Summerville Ht: 6-foot-4 (Event)Wt: 184 lbs ![]() Forty: 4.5 secs Vertical: 30 inches ![]() Class: 2008 (High School) 64.53 ![]() After the Aram Olson visit, I heard from a firsthand source that JT and staff went to Summerville, SC to meet with Coach John McKissick. Although JT said it was to meet Coach McKissick, they also wanted to check out this sophomore stud WR. I can personally attest that this kid is very special as we have scrimmaged Summerville the last five years. He was tremendous as a freshman and was even better as a sophomore. He already holds an offer from South Carolina. A.J. is approximately 6'5 and a burner (listed as a 4.6 but plays much faster...film on his profile)...more to come on this kid later. Scout Film$ is available on his page and worth watching... Last edited by osugrad21; 08-17-2006 at 09:13 AM. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it illegal for schools to be sending out scholarships for the '08 class?

Gotcha. Just making sure. I thought that Pete Carroll got in trouble for offering Jimmy Clauson before he was supposed to, and this is the first I've heard of a '08 person getting an offer. Thought there was some kind of rule change this past year that prohibited coaches from offering too early- to even the playing field, I guess.

Not too get too far off of Mr. Green, but I think Carroll was fine. The Clauson's contacted his staff if I remember correctly.

2/3 Class of 2007 seems destined for greatness Analyst: 7 players from Palmetto State will be included on top-100 list By SETH EMERSON Staff Writer <!-- begin body-content --> Two weeks ago, Ohio State coach Jim Tressel walked into the S.C. High School League offices in Columbia. He was fresh off securing a commitment from Irmo fullback Aram Olson and wanted to say hello to Irmo coach Bob Hanna, who was attending a meeting there. While they waited, one of Tressel’s assistants pointed at a picture of Summerville coach John McKissick. It was more than a show of respect for the country’s winningest high school football coach; it was very much about Summerville star receiver A.J. Green, a 6-foot-5 sophomore who is high on the wish lists of many colleges, including Ohio State. Include Green in what is a highly regarded rising senior class, and the next recruiting season sets up to be the state’s most heated in recent memory. |

5/3 A.J. is the frontrunner for the title of the best prospect of 2008. Right now, he is only considering Georgia. |
