Its not OSU that should be concerned so much as PSU and WVU. Thats their recruiting ground he's bowing up in. There is nothing more lethal to the long term health of a CFB program than erosion of its prime recruiting base. After '61 other teams were able to take it to Woody for Ohio kids and the decade was a miserable one untill he shifted his focus out of state and landed the Supe Sophs. |

Now Jonathan Baldwin is holding a press conference this afternoon to say he is going to Pitt. That means after Pryor, Pitt will probably get the three best players in PA in Hale, Baldwin, and Nix. Penn State is getting killed in their own state by Wannstedt.

I wouldn't mark Hale down for Pitt just yet...
Not saying he comes here, but tOSU is VERY much in this one... His visit this weekend rekindled some old sparks... |

We could all know on Hale soon... I'm not sure he makes it to the AA Game before he announces... |

Pitt also has an 08 QB verbal from Zack Stoudt.

After reading the article today on Hale, it appeared to me that we weren't really killing ourselves to land him. I mean we hardly talked to him and he spent time going to Wendys and watching TV. They will roll out the red carpet for him at Pitt because they need him a lot more. And Saddler will be on him to go to Pitt the whole time. I would be very surprised at this point if we got him.

![]() That makes no sense. If he had no interest he would not have made the visit. |

I think if we are only wanting one more DE, than Wells may be higher on the board. I think Hale we would love to have but may only have one spot between Hale and Wells. I would be fine if we landed both to go with Williams and possibly Mobley (I see Mobley eventually sliding down). Never can have enough DL talent with how we rotate.

I think Hale is flexible enough that he can play a number of positions. He could play as a DE, or LEO or even SAM or MIKE positions at LB.
