'08 SC DL Da'Quan Bowers (Clemson signee)
'08 SC DL Da'Quan Bowers
Bamberg (SC) Bamberg-Ehrhardt Height: 6-foot-4 Weight: 267 pounds 40-yard dash: 4.61 seconds Bench max: 330 pounds Squat max: 520 pounds GPA: 3.27 This is likely a token thread as Da'Quan is already considered a Clemson lock. However, tOSU has offered already and this is one of the most impressive football players I have ever seen in person. In the playoof game I witnessed last year, Da'Quan was seemingly a man amongst boys...even overshadowing 5-Star teammate, Ricky Sapp. Even as a sophomore, he possesses a college-ready body. When I saw him run down a RB on a sweep...from the backside...I knew he was a player. He already holds 24 offers from schools such as Clemson, South Carolina, PSU, FSU,Florida, Georgia, and Virginia Tech. Rivals $ 6/14 Da'Quan took an unofficial visit to Clemson for a one-day camp and spent plenty of time with the coaches and current players. He says he is most interested in Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and South Carolina. Last edited by osugrad21; 07-08-2006 at 02:10 PM. |

July 07, 2006 Bowers A Likely Tiger By Phil Kornblut Junior DL Daquan Bowers (6-5 260) of Bamberg Ehrhardt is expected to commit to Clemson, possibly before the end of the summer according to his coach Ron Duncan. "He's a heavy lean to Clemson right now," Duncan said. "I'm not sure when he's going to pop. His cousin, Chris Franklin, played at Clemson, and he's been a die hard Clemson fan the whole way. I think he grew up a big Clemson fan. He's been going to their camp for years and was offered by them before he ever played a down of high school football. That's where he's leaning. But I don't know when he'll make it somewhat official." Bowers also visited USC and Georgia this summer along with Clemson. When he makes his commitment, Bowers will be the second for the 2008 class for the Tigers joining receiver Marquan Jones of Blythewood. |

It is likely an exaggeration...but not by much. With my own eyes, I saw this kid do amazing things.

He led the team in tackles, tackles for loss, sacks, rushing yds, and TD's. Also returned kicks...
Sick athlete... |

I know he is committed but I love watching this kid play...
Rivals $ Film. My Take: Smaller competition but watch the initial burst, the lateral movement, the change of direction, and the explosion when he makes contact. This kid is a beast...needs some polish on using his hands, but this will likely be a 5-star. |

Daquan shuts down all of the winter rumors about his recruitment being open. He is already working the recruiting trail for the Tigers and plans to enroll early. |

Bowers still solid with Clemson The scholarship offers continue to pour in for 6-foot-6, 250-pound Daquan Bowers of Bamberg Ehrhardt (S.C). But the mammoth defensive tackle, rated as the No. 2 overall player in the state of South Carolina by scout.com, says he intends to stick with his commitment to Clemson. Ohio State, Notre Dame, LSU, N.C. State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Southern Cal have all courted Bowers. ?A lot of them came by the school in the spring wanting to know if I?ve changed my mind,? Bowers said. ?They wanted to let me know their offer is still on the table. ?I told them I appreciate it, but I?m a firm commit with Clemson. These are great opportunities, but I can?t accept them.? Bowers, who is in Clemson this week for a three-day camp, said he never felt pressured by relatives or friends to remain close to home. ?My family left the decision to me to make sure that?s where I want to go,? Bowers said. ?And I think the fans are real happy with my decision.? |
