I would think that local pressure would be the last reason on earth that a kid would pick a school. Parental pressure, yes, but not local. Hell, the kid is going to be where he is for the next four-five years including most of the time during the summer. He won't have to worry about any local pressure.

He wouldn't be at Ohio State for almost another year (which includes a full senior year at high school). That is PLENTY of time to have to deal with "local pressure" IMO.

The local pressure on this young man should be obvious to anyone paying attention. Rich Rodriguez has made it clear to everybody that he really wants Josh and the whole state views his program as a source of pride. They are even more rabid about the program these days, because they don't feel they're getting their props nationally. As Josh himself said in the BN interview, he gets pressed about his WVU commitment everywhere he goes.
Announcing today that he has chosen tOSU over WVU would be like grabbing hold of a lightning rod during a thunderstorm. He'd get fried to a crisp.
The fact that Josh is bringing Mom with him to Columbus in a couple of weeks is a very good sign. And the love his fellow Block-O recruits are showing him, coupled with the family atmosphere JT has created at tOSU, make me pretty confident that -- in the end -- he'll put on a cap with a big 'O' on it.

By Lichtenfels. Confirms that car trouble was the reason he was not at the Ohio State camp. Plans on visiting Columbus in July with his mother. Also talks of a trip to Florida State around that very same time frame.
You have to like the comments made about the "contacts" he has.

I can read the article now that scout is free until July 4, and his comments about the WVU camp sound good for us. The way he talks about it, I like our chances here.

When a verbal commit uses the words "decent" to describe the camp talent and "alright" to decribe his time there, you have to wonder just how solid his commitment really is...

My sentiments exactly. Now I know Josh's inside ties. His mom and Bollman are like from the same town. That has to make for good conversation with mom which tranlates into good atmosphere. This might also explain JT and Co. not pursuing any other OL at this time. We honestly know that we are still in goo | |
