I hope we get him. IMHO the class looks like this: Posey, Stoneburner, Thomas, and Scott

I think the info I read and hear is ND is the team to beat regardless of the top five listing.

It is hard to fathom adding guys like Posey, Floyd, Stoneburner, Scott or Thomas to an offense already loaded with the playmakers we have now. I like everything I see in Floyd's game. I hope Pryor is taking notice of the weapons he could have, which I am sure he is, or that Floyd realizes the potential we could have for him. The OLine to give him time running his routes, the other WRs to give him single converage, and the QB that could get him a ring. Posey and Stoneburner have figured it out... now it's Michael Floyd's turn .

Mmkay, just wanted to make sure. Not trying to be the BP Debbie Downer or anything like that, but I gotta agree with Quickness on this one; ND is still #1, and OSU is #2. Certainly not bad, considering how ND jumped all over Floyd from Day 1, but there's still work to do if you're a Buckeye recruiter.

If he schedules an official to Columbus? If I were a Buckeye fan, thats when I'd start to get my hopes up in earnest. Actions speak louder than words, and visits can easily change the status quo. I will also say that I think OSU pushed themselves ahead of some of the other schools this summer; ahead of the likes of UM and Minnesota. But that said, Floyd only has one school scheduled for an official, and thats Notre Dame - and it's been that way for a long time.

Alright, gave my 2 cents/different perspective. Feel free to continue you're optimism.

Eh, I still think optimism is plausible, but your post makes total sense. I'd agree that an official visit is something tangible/measurable that we need to see.

I know you are always good on your calls but I am hoping that the power of positive thinking works in our favor. If only 1 visit why the delay?

About 10 recruits attended the scrimmage, including Cretin-Derham Hall wide receiver Michael Floyd and two of the state's top juniors -- Wayzata athlete Fritz Rock and Bloomington Jefferson quarterback Moses Alipate.
Brewster challenges Wheelwright to strive for consistency

About the only surprise was Cretin-Derham Hall star wide receiver Michael Floyd making an unannounced visit wearing a Gophers sweatshirt and hat. Brewster and his staff hope Floyd is wearing the same attire in early February.

There's a part of me that likes to see guys stay in their home state... atleast for the mid majors. I could care less about a top 25 team losing an in state prospect. But the Minnesotas, Indianas and Kentuckys of the world.

I'm with you on that. I don't mind seeing OSU rob Florida, California, Texas, or Mich of major talent, but if Floyd doesn't choose OSU, I'd much rather have him pick Minny that any other school. It keeps the Big Ten balanced and strong when you get guys like Floyd to stay home.

That is a good idea but Laura Ingalls left the country and moved to the city and Mike Floyd will leave Minnesota!

Insiders say Notre Dame and Ohio State are the clear front-runners for Cretin-Derham Hall senior wide receiver Michael Floyd.

Floyd was a high-school version of ex-Viking Randy Moss during the Raiders' intrasquad scrimmage Wednesday, catching repeated long passes from Gophers-committed quarterback John Nance, who threw one pass 70 yards in the air.

Latest suitors trying to get involved with Cretin-Derham Hall receiver Michael Floyd in the recruiting sweepstakes are Wisconsin and Iowa, which are pushing hard.

Floyd recently narrowed his choices to Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida and the Gophers. Dozens of schools offered him full scholarships after seeing tape of his junior season. The one exception was USC, which wanted Floyd to attend one of its camps before making a decision. Floyd declined.

"Maybe he'll end up playing them, and then we'll see, because I've got to think Michael will remember that," Scanlan said. "He's not black Irish like I am, where you hang on to things for a long time, but I think Michael remembers."

Floyd will make his official visit to Notre Dame the weekend of Oct. 20, when the Irish play USC.

"You have to look at it as how you fit," Floyd said when asked what the deciding factor on picking a school will be. "Being comfortable is very important, and the people around you is a big thing. Without good people it's probably not going to be fun."

The goal has always been about making the most of one's opportunities.
