After all his recruiting visits are completed this year, look for wide receiver Michael Floyd of Cretin-Derham Hall to end up committing to Ohio State.

After watching that ND offensive explosion, would a top-notch receiver want to play in that offense?

Floyd had to like what he saw IF he saw the game yesterday, especially if he also saw ND's game as well.

Come on....CHARLIE IS AN OFFENSIVE GENIUS! Did you not get the memo? It's just a part of his scheme. Lull the defense to sleep and throw them off guard with a Clausen throw 48 feet over the receiver's head on a post. And yes, I realize my team's OC is Mike DeBord.

Charlie could work that for them, by saying "Your the missing piece of the puzzle" and so on and so forth.

Hopefully Mike realizes that there are many other missing pieces to that puzzle.

Too bad it wasn't the receivers fault the QBs looked awful though ...

Raiders wide receiver Michael Floyd, Minnesota's most sought-after football recruit in six years, wasn't the sole center of attention. Although he had three receptions for 77 yards, he started the Raiders' spree by throwing an option pass and hitting Shady Salamon for a 24-yard touchdown on Cretin-Derham Hall's first play from scrimmage.

It was a play the two buddies had been working on since June.

"It was really nice to open up that way," Floyd said. "Shady is like a wide receiver anyway."

Floyd, ranked as the eighth-best high school wide receiver in the nation by recruiting Web site Rivals.com, caught a 37-yard pass to the Rangers' 1-yard line minutes later to set up another Salamon touchdown.

From the OSU site...says ND still has a slight edge over Minnesota, Florida, Michigan and Ohio State and will make a couple of officals to help decide. Talks about his team's opening win.

Michael Floyd showcased his variety of talents on Friday in Cretin-Derham Hall's 42-14 victory over Stillwater at O'Shaughnessy Stadium at the University of St. Thomas.

Floyd, a 6-3, 210-pound receiver, rushed for 106 yards, caught three passes for 25 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns. The senior, who has yet announce his college choice, entertained the home crowd with his rare mix of speed, power and elusiveness.

To go along with his offensive production, Floyd returned punts and kickoffs and saw playing time at cornerback.
Quote:
"I knew I was going to be called on a little more [carrying the ball]," Floyd said. "The line did a great job of opening holes for everybody."

Floyd carried the ball three times on the Raiders' opening drive, which resulted in a 9-yard touchdown run by Binns. Floyd ran for 17 yards on his first touch, 23 on the second and 22 on the third.

A Floyd fumble on the Raiders' next possession led to Stillwater's tying touchdown. Ponies quarterback Aaron Anderson connected on an 11-yard touchdown pass to Joe Mergens.

Floyd put Cretin back in front midway through the second quarter on an 11-yard touchdown run.
Cretin 42, Stillwater 14
