My take: Kids this big aren't supposed to this fast. Add the fact that he is NFL-caliber hands and you see why he is a 5-star talent. His hands are what impress me the most...these clips highlight his ability to go downfield and also to work the sidelines and the corners of the endzones. If can get a finger on it he comes down with it. This kid is a stud and I would really love to see us land him. His ability to work in traffic is also extremely impressive for a kid his size. I like where we sit with the turmoil at ND and the falling out with Carufel.

STUD I tell you He had 6 for 57 against us but a lot of that came in garbage time...For some reason they had their starters in pretty much the entire game besides the fact that they were down 48-7.

Anyways, back to Floyd, he's an excellent receiver and great in traffic. I'm really not liking this class you guys are amassing, it's got #1 in the country potential. The offense alone scares me, add to it the fact that you guys will spread us out with Vince Young 2.0, and it ain't looking pretty for Michigan.

Mind you, I do think our class looks pretty good too, but OSU's has a shot at #1

I think this is a positive update for OSU. Where there is smoke there is usually fire.

This isn't a done deal by any means, as there still is a long way to go. But after reading that, I'm actually a little more confident.

Merely spitting on a flash fire doesn't do much good.

One rumor that has been circulating in recent weeks, perhaps in relation to the aforementioned prediction of Floyd to Ohio State, is that he and quarterback Terrelle Pryor are a package deal. Bischoff doesn’t put much stock into that rumor, pointing out that Pryor and Floyd met for the first time during Floyd’s summer tour of schools in the Midwest, and since then they have only spoken with each other on a few brief occasions.

Thomas would not be rumored as a package deal imo... Pryor merely helps OSU's chances. Also, I wasn't aware that kids did much 'speaking' when they weren't face to face... all those kids must be playing tetris on their phones.

Not to be funny, but is this a typo, or was Thomas thrown around in that deal also? Not that it matters, come this time tomorrow.

Not to mention the fact that his coach isn't going to say anything negative about ND, especially since there has/will be players from him team that will be recruited by ND in the future. Carufel already may have partially burned a bridge and it wouldn't be healthy to burn the rest. Beyond that, no coach should ever go out and bash a school, though Pryor's coach came close to with Paterno. I agree with SweetBuckeye though...it seemed positive for OSU imo. All it did was try to refute heavy interest in OSU rather than talk about Floyd's interest in ND.

I just thought the term 'package deal' was a poor description of Pryor & Floyd, and as such leads to an easier rebuttal.

Both Pryor & Thomas are considered heavy OSU leans. The first shoe should drop tomorrow with Flash, thanks in part to Pryor's efforts. However, I don't think 'package deal' is a term I'd use for them, like formerly with Hale/Saddler or Conley/Oden.

Every time Cretin-Derham Hall's Michael Floyd has the football, a collective gasp typically follows. What will Minnesota's best prep player do with it?

Will he dance through the line of scrimmage with his long stride or will he accelerate out of defensive coverage to make a difficult pass play look routine? Or will he make a play on special teams that truly is special?

During an exhilarating, nearly three-minute span in the second quarter Wednesday night, the answers were yes, yes and yes.

Floyd, who has yet to announce where he will play his college ball, scored three touchdowns in various ways to power the Raiders to a 42-7 victory over Mounds View at Mustang Stadium to clinch the Suburban East Conference championship. Cretin-Derham Hall, the No. 2-ranked team in the metro area, completed the regular season with an 8-0 record, all of its victories against conference opponents.

Mounds View fell to 6-2 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

"He keeps topping something he did the previous week," Raiders coach Mike Scanlan said of Floyd. "We see him all the time, and we are still amazed at some of the stuff he can do. We played very well, but a lot of it was due to (Floyd). It is a matter of getting smart, giving him the ball and letting him make all of these plays. He gives us luxuries that no one else can."

"When I get (the ball), I just look at it as another opportunity to do something," said Floyd, who had 235 all-purpose yards. "I just try to bring my 'A' game every week. My teammates expect a lot out of me, and I expect a lot out of myself. The plays they do give me, I know that I can do a lot with them."

Floyd, who has 15 touchdowns and 1,289 all-purpose yards this season, gave fans quite a scare when he hobbled off the field with 4:56 remaining in the third quarter after injuring his right ankle and foot. Floyd was gang-tackled throughout, and the hits took their toll.

He sat on the bench for a while and had the ankle and foot wrapped. He also stood on crutches along the sideline during parts of the fourth quarter.

"I was just using the crutches so I could watch the game," he said. "I didn't want to sit on the bench and make it look like I was not contributing."

Isn't it more of a two horse race for Floyd? He hasn't scheduled an official for you guys yet has he?

Anyways, ND really needs impact WR's. Hes getting a lot of hype right now, which makes me a little wary, but I really want him.

We've been hearing for awhile that he tentatively has one set up for the Wisconsin weekend and the details are trying to be worked out...

Per the Blue & Gold interview with his coach that was posted above, if he doesn't make it that weekend then the Floyd family will come in early December...
