Still would have been nice to have him though. I guess we'll have to "settle" for the second best player in the state...

Here is concrete proof that the recruiting game makes no sense. Good luck in South Bend. This is why if you follow recruiting, you never tie your hopes up too much into one kid. Next...

Totally a case of having too many weapons. Its understandable for a high school talent like Mike to want to get on the field as soon as possible, I couldnt blame him. If he were from Ohio...........I might question it but not here.
I really wouldnt be too upset if we got 0 receivers in this class with the depth we currently have on the roster. That would hurt in years to come but right now we don't have enough footballs to go around nor the playing time for the players we have. Its a wonderful problem to have and when a few more guys come on board in the following months just to play with Mr. Pryor, well we might just forget about the ones that got away. |

Oh Well! You can't catch all the big fish. Good Luck to Mike. I am sure that he will still be an NFL prospect in a few years wherever he goes.

The worst part is that it may even take more than 4 years to get a winning team established in ND. I don't know what he's thinking. Weiss must be a master closer. Last edited by BuckeyeIII; 10-22-2007 at 09:04 AM. |

I just wonder if, aside from the positive factors Floyd used in making his choice (playing time, ND on the parchment in 4 years), if there wasn't another factor, unspoken, that was in the back of his mind.
(Or perhaps that is something to paste in another prospect's thread). |

One more thing on Floyd, and I posted this on the BG$ board too:
It sucks to lose Floyd, but having Thomas, Posey and Stoney makes it a WHOLE lot easier to swallow. I think Floyd was told that either the team starts winning, or Charlie is gone (is this what you were referring to sandgk?).. That really is a win-win situation for him, plus he plays right away. You can't fault the kid for this, especially since it was his childhood favorite growing up. He has a young QB to grow with (either Clausen or Crist) and an unbelievable media bias that will promote the hell out of this kid like they did Samardjzia if they ever do get back on track. I can't say I will follow ND and root for them, but I'll have no problem rooting for Floyd becuase he is sucha great talent. |

Agreed...I had just started drinking the Floyd kool-aid but was having trouble believing we would end up with him, though I'm not going to act like I'm not somewhat surprised. I still will stand by my statement that Floyd is the best WR next to AJ Green and he will have a great career at ND. Best of luck.
